According to VNA reporters, dozens of damaged locations have appeared along National Highway 1A in recent days. In particular, the section passing through Nam Hai Lang commune has many places with peeling, deep subsidence, and water stagnating after rain. At the Hai Son traffic light intersection, the road surface is seriously damaged with deep holes about 3m long, nearly 1m wide, and 20-30cm deep. Vehicles traveling through this area must reduce speed and avoid, posing a potential risk of collision and accidents, especially in rainy conditions with limited visibility. Authorities have placed markers and cones to warn traffic participants, but the prolonged deterioration still causes difficulties and insecurity on this vital North-South route.

Similarly, the section of National Highway 1A through Hai Lang commune is also seriously degraded. The road surface has cracked and sunk, creating long depressions, forcing cars and trucks to constantly avoid them. In rainy and humid weather conditions, the road surface is slippery, the risk of accidents is even higher, especially for motorbikes and vehicles traveling at night. Meanwhile, the section through Trieu Phong commune has many deep, deformed spots, creating large puddles. This situation not only hinders traffic but also poses a high risk to drivers, especially motorbikes. When going through flooded sections, people have difficulty recognizing the depth and location of the depression, making it easy to lose control, slip or fall, or damage their vehicles. Authorities have erected barriers and stretched warning ropes to guide vehicles to avoid dangerous areas. The road surface of National Highway 1A through Quang Tri ward is also deformed and peeling in many places, and authorities have had to erect warning fences.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc, a resident of Nam Hai Lang commune, said that every time he passes Hai Son intersection, he is always afraid because the road surface has many potholes, large puddles, and a large number of vehicles, so it is easy to lose control and have an accident. In the past few days, there have been cases of people and vehicles slipping and falling, but fortunately, no serious incidents have occurred.
Faced with the reality of many damaged and potentially dangerous sections on National Highway 1A through Quang Tri, people have requested that authorities promptly inspect and repair the road to ensure traffic safety on this key national highway.
