In his opening speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of PTIT, emphasized that PTIT is one of the leading universities in Vietnam in the field of Science and Technology. The Academy has determined its development orientation to become a specialized university, and at the same time, a pioneer in innovation and digital transformation in education and research.

The international workshop "Horizon Europe Programme: Funding and Cooperation Opportunities with EU Research Institutes" took place at PTIT.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dang Hoai Bac affirmed that PTIT was chosen as the venue for the conference as a testament to the recognition of international organizations for the role and prestige of the Academy in the research ecosystem. At the same time, this is also an important opportunity for the domestic scientific community to directly access high-quality international research and funding programs such as Horizon Europe.
"We believe that the Workshop will not only introduce EU program access procedures, but also inspire a new wave of collaborative research proposals from Vietnam, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the global research ecosystem," Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac shared.
Horizon Europe is the European Union's flagship research and innovation programme, running for the period 2021-2027 with a total budget of 95.5 billion Euros. The aim of the programme is to promote research excellence, technological innovation, and address global challenges such as climate change, healthcare , and digital transformation. Horizon Europe facilitates international research collaboration between EU universities, research institutes, businesses, and organizations with global partners. Vietnam has many opportunities to participate in components within the framework of this programme, especially co-funding, co-research, and institutional capacity development projects.
In the context of the increasingly strengthened cooperation between Vietnam and the EU in the field of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation (STID), the organization of training courses on Horizon Europe is of practical significance to help Vietnamese scientists, research managers and universities/institutes clearly understand the structure, mechanisms and funding opportunities of Horizon Europe; enhance the capacity to build project profiles, seek international partners and effectively participate in the EU's global research network.

Delegates attending the workshop took photos.
The program is divided into three main pillars:
1. Scientific excellence - promoting fundamental research and enhancing the EU's global capabilities;
2. Global challenges and industrial capabilities - focus on pressing social issues and industrial innovation;
3. Innovative Europe - accelerating the delivery of innovative ideas to market, through innovation councils and funds.
Within the framework of the Workshop, speakers introduced in detail the program structure, application process, as well as strategies for establishing research partnerships with institutes and universities in the EU.
The presence of representatives of the EU Delegation to Vietnam, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and hundreds of scientists, lecturers and students from institutes and schools across the country demonstrates the shared commitment to promoting scientific excellence and sustainable research cooperation between Vietnam and the European Union.
The workshop is an important event in the strategic cooperation between Vietnam and the EU in the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. In particular, as the host, PTIT has clearly demonstrated its commitment to accompanying the Vietnamese scientific community in internationalizing research activities, contributing to building a knowledge-based economy, proactively integrating and developing sustainably.
