This is the third year the program has been implemented in Vietnam, bringing the total number of students receiving scholarships to 27 in the past three years (from 2023 to 2025). Through the scholarship program, Fast Retailing hopes to accompany students on their journey to become individuals who actively contribute to the Vietnam - Japan relationship and build a sustainable, better society globally.
12 Vietnamese students receive scholarships from the Fast Retailing Foundation in 2025
The Fast Retailing Foundation Scholarship is a full scholarship for the Bachelor's Program in English at 12 Japanese universities, supporting tuition, living expenses and housing expenses throughout the Bachelor's Program, with an average of 10 students per year. More specifically, this year, after reviewing the application and interview rounds, the admissions board has selected 12 outstanding students from 10 high schools across the country to receive scholarships, including:
● 08 students in Hanoi: Foreign Language High School - Hanoi National University; Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted; Social Sciences and Humanities High School; Hanoi National University of Education High School; Concordia International School Hanoi and TH School.
● 01 student in Hue : Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted - Hue.
● 03 students in Ho Chi Minh City: Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted; Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Education Practice High School.
Mr. Noriaki Koyama presented flowers to the Fast Retailing Foundation scholarship recipients.
The Fast Retailing Foundation Full Scholarship covers the following expenses:
● Tuition (enrollment fee, admission fee, semester tuition)
● Settlement support fee: 200,000 Yen (one time in the first year)
● Living expenses (including housing costs): 128,000 Yen - 160,000 Yen per month
● Overseas travel accident insurance
Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony, Mr. Noriaki Koyama - Senior Executive Officer of Fast Retailing Group and Senior Secretary General of the Fast Retailing Foundation, shared: "We believe that investing in education is the most practical way to create positive change for the future. Through the Fast Retailing Foundation scholarship program, we wish to accompany the future generation of Vietnam not only in their learning journey but also on the path to realizing their dreams and contributing to the overall development of society. I hope that through this learning opportunity, outstanding young people of Vietnam will have the opportunity to learn more about Japan and become a bridge between the two countries in the future."

As one of the 12 students honored to receive the Fast Retailing scholarship, Le Manh Cuong, a former student of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (Hanoi), shared: "I want to become an artificial intelligence (AI) engineer specializing in developing early warning systems to minimize damage caused by natural disasters. Japan is a leading country in technology and creative thinking in this field, so I hope to learn the interdisciplinary approach and working style to apply to practical solutions of a global nature." Manh Cuong will study Management, Environment and Information Studies at Keio University, one of the top prestigious universities in Japan.

Coming from Quang Tri, Nguyen Ngoc Lan Anh, a former student of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, is a typical representative of the Central region to receive the Fast Retailing scholarship this year. Lan Anh shared: "My biggest wish is to contribute to bringing better learning opportunities to students in difficult circumstances, helping them to develop their full potential. That aspiration comes from my own journey of growing up in a remote mountainous area, when I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to study at a leading school for gifted students in the country. I believe that the opportunity to study in Japan will help me gain more insight, and I also look forward to learning how businesses here combine development with community responsibility." Lan Anh will study Management at Sophia University.
Nguyen Ngoc Lan Anh, former student of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted
Nguyen Hoang My Tran, a former student of the High School for the Gifted at Ho Chi Minh City National University, said: "I hope to build a social enterprise in Vietnam in the future, providing quality food at affordable prices to contribute to improving public health and promoting sustainable development. I chose Japan because I believe this is a suitable learning environment, where I can learn about discipline, sustainable thinking and a sense of responsibility to the community. I hope to learn from effective community development models in Japan, thereby finding suitable directions to apply in practice in my home country." My Tran will become a new student majoring in Economics at Keio University.

Previously, in 2024, the Fast Retailing Foundation awarded scholarships to 9 outstanding candidates, currently studying at Kyoto University, Waseda University, Keio University, Kyushu University, and Nagoya University. In the first year of the program - 2023, the Fast Retailing Foundation awarded scholarships to 6 outstanding candidates, currently studying at Kyoto University, Tohoku University, Nagoya University, and Keio University.
Fast Retailing Foundation Scholarship Implementation Time for Spring and Fall 2026:
1. Registration deadline: 01/07 (Tuesday) - 04/08 (Friday)
2. Receiving and reviewing documents: 01/07 (Tuesday) - 01/09 (Friday)
3. Announcement of invitation for round 1 interview: September 22 (Friday)
4. Round 1 interview: September 27 (Saturday) or September 28 (Sunday)
5. Final interview invitation notice: October 6 (Monday)
6. Final interview: 10/10 (Friday)
7. Announcement of final interview results: October 17 (Friday)
8. After receiving the Fast Retailing Foundation Scholarship results, candidates will apply to the desired university themselves.

Fast Retailing Foundation Scholarship Application Requirements
1. Under 19 years of age at the time of University admission.
2. Vietnamese nationality.
3. Enroll in a Bachelor's degree taught in English at one of the Universities designated by the Fund.
4. Not receiving any other non-refundable scholarships.
5. Desire to learn about Japanese culture and language during university studies.
6. Have TOEFL iBT 90 or IELTS 7.0 certificate or higher.
7. SAT score of 1450 or ACT 33 or IB 40 (predicted score), or total score of 340 in Math (Course 2) and Science of EJU exam.
