Review of the North-South high-speed railway project through Da Nang

TPO - During a field survey, the leaders of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested units and localities to urgently review and carefully and in detail evaluate the route and resettlement areas related to the North-South high-speed railway project passing through the area.

On October 17, Mr. Phan Thai Binh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - inspected the field work of investment in construction of resettlement areas, people's cemeteries and site clearance work for the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis (section from the south of Thu Bon River to the end of the city boundary).

Da Nang city leaders inspected the field investment in resettlement area construction and site clearance for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis.

According to the Quang Nam Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the unit has proactively coordinated with the City Land Fund Development Center and related localities to basically complete the review and preliminary determination of compensation volume, support and site clearance services; relocation of technical infrastructure; resettlement needs to serve the project.

The expected area to be recovered is about 910 hectares, the total resettlement demand is about 4,136 lots, 33 resettlement areas will be built, 13 cemeteries will be built and the total investment of the project will be about 19,250 billion VND.

Mr. Phan Thai Binh - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee - inspected the actual situation at Thang Binh commune.

The section from the south of Thu Bon River to the end of Da Nang City's boundary is 75.26km long, passing through 15 communes and wards including Go Noi, Duy Xuyen, Xuan Phu, Que Son Trung, Thang Binh, Thang Phu, Thang Dien, Tay Ho, Chien Dan, Ban Thach, Huong Tra, Tam Xuan, Tam Anh, Nui Thanh, Tam My.

In Duy Xuyen commune, the project passes through the area with a length of about 7.83km and an average clearance area of ​​80m; the total preliminary recovered area is 65.84 hectares. The leaders of this commune proposed to adjust the route to minimize negative impacts on 2 historical relics, Duy Son Primary School and especially the Nong Bo People's Cemetery area. According to the proposal, the adjustment plan is to move 250-500m to the East or 100m to the West.

The area belongs to Go Noi commune, planned to build a resettlement area to serve the project.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Phan Thai Binh affirmed that the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis is a national key project, of special economic and social significance. He requested the Quang Nam Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board to coordinate with units and localities to urgently review and carefully and in detail evaluate the route and resettlement area.

For resettlement areas, it is necessary to ensure modern traffic infrastructure, diverse utilities, environmental impact assessment, and especially note that the land area must be large enough for people to settle down conveniently.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested relevant units and localities to report specifically and complete the dossier according to the plan agreed upon at the inspection session to submit to the city leaders for consideration and specific decision.
