Rimario scored the "golden goal" for Thanh Hoa FC.
Struggling at the bottom of the league table, SLNA and Thanh Hoa FC are determined to win when they face each other in Round 8 of the V-League. In the previous round, SLNA FC performed quite well, drawing with Hanoi Police FC, while Thanh Hoa FC also shared points with PVF-CAND.

Despite playing at home, SLNA's players, with their thin squad and lack of quality domestic and foreign players, were unable to impose their playing style on their opponents. Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa FC, with quality players like Nguyen Thai Son, Vo Nguyen Hoang, and Rimario, created a rather impressive attacking game.

After several missed opportunities, Thanh Hoa finally opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. A defensive error by SLNA, with their defender failing to clear the ball properly and goalkeeper Cao Van Binh coming out of his goal, allowed striker Rimario to easily slot the ball into the empty net.
The second half saw commendable efforts from the home team SLNA. The fast-paced and varied attacking combinations created by the Nghe An team repeatedly put pressure on Thanh Hoa's defense. SLNA fans were left disappointed as Ngo Van Luong, Ho Khac Ngoc, and Olaha all missed opportunities to score, with their shots narrowly missing the crossbar.
Despite relentless attacking efforts, Coach Van Sy Son's players failed to score and had to accept a 0-1 defeat at home against Thanh Hoa FC. This loss leaves SLNA with only 6 points, ranking 12th out of 14 teams. Meanwhile, with Rimario's "golden goal," Thanh Hoa FC secured their first victory in the V-League this season, climbing to 11th place with 7 points.
