Colorful Northwest, cultural and tourist destination

(CLO) On the evening of March 14, in Dien Bien province, the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Dien Bien Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival officially opened, attracting the attention of thousands of tourists and local people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized: "Coming to Dien Bien means coming to a land with majestic natural landscapes and a rich cultural identity of the ethnic groups in the Northwest."

In particular, every March, the pure white color of Ban flowers blooms all over the hills, creating a poetic scene, becoming a source of inspiration for the unique cultural and artistic activities of the festival.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Dien Bien should focus on developing tourism in a professional and modern direction, associated with protecting the ecological environment and preserving natural landscapes.

Promoting and enhancing the festival brand is an important task, aiming to turn this event into an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists. At the same time, the province needs to strengthen cooperation with other localities and international partners to promote the value of Ban flowers in the sustainable tourism development strategy.

The highlight of the festival is the 90-minute art program "Dien Bien - Bright Colors", combining tradition and modernity.

The program consists of three chapters: "Touching the memory", "Sensing the color and fragrance" and "Unleashing the essence - Growing brilliantly", recreating the image of Ban flowers as a symbol of life, indomitable spirit and unique culture of Dien Bien.

For the first time, the Grand Concert was held right after the art program, creating a vibrant, modern atmosphere for the festival. Famous artists such as Tung Duong, Double2T, Ngo Lan Huong... brought hits with new arrangements, full of Northwest style, stirring up the festival atmosphere.

In addition, on March 13-14, a series of traditional cultural and sports activities were held, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate, including: The Ban Flower Beauty Contest - honoring the beauty of the Northwest girls; Street parade - colorful ethnic culture; Highland cultural space - recreating traditional life; Bicycle pushing and ammunition loading contest - recalling heroic historical memories; Live show "U Va Legend" - bringing unique art performances, introducing the unique folk culture of the Thai people.

After 10 editions, the Ban Flower Festival has become a typical cultural and tourism event of Dien Bien and the Northwest region. This is not only an opportunity to promote the natural beauty and national cultural identity but also contributes to promoting local socio-economic development.
