According to Android Authority , Samsung promises the current Galaxy S24 series seven years of impressive security operating system updates, matching Google's commitment to the Pixel 8 series. However, the South Korean company's latest efforts will extend this support period, at least for those who own the enterprise versions of the latest Galaxy tablet models.
The image showing the commitment to provide the update was posted by Benelux Andy Rottiers.
Confirmed by Samsung's Benelux representative Andy Rottiers on LinkedIn, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition tablet will receive 8 years of updates. An image uploaded by Rottiers confirms the commitment to providing 8 operating system updates for the device. This means that, theoretically, Samsung's tablet will receive Android 22.
This policy is seen as a significant improvement over the South Korean company's initial update commitment for its enterprise tablets. Initially, Samsung stated that the standard version of this tablet model would receive four years of operating system updates and five years of security updates.
The Galaxy Tab Active 5 is known to be an interesting tablet in both its enterprise and standard versions. It boasts mid-range specifications such as the Exynos 1380 chip, an 8.8-inch 120Hz TFT display, and other notable features like a removable battery, a 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card support, replaceable hardware buttons, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
