According to representatives of the Vietnam Airports Corporation, the smooth coordination of units in the service chain helped the experimental flight to be safe, accurate, and efficient, marking an important step in the journey to bring Vinh Airport back into operation.
According to Vinh International Airport, from December 19th, Vinh Airport will officially operate a cashless and automated electronic toll collection (ETC) system for parking services for passenger pick-up and drop-off at the airport's parking area.
Introducing an automated toll collection system allows vehicles to move faster without stopping to pay tolls; saving time and fuel, reducing traffic congestion, and simultaneously reducing paper consumption, labor costs, and protecting the environment.
The Vietnam Airports Corporation announced that it is accelerating the progress of various components at the Vinh International Airport project with the goal of putting it into operation from December 19th, coinciding with the commencement and inauguration of many key projects nationwide.

Bringing Vinh Airport back into operation will make travel more convenient for passengers, especially during the peak travel demand period at the end of the year.
From December 19th, Vietnam Airlines plans to operate 7 round-trip flights per day between Vinh and Ho Chi Minh City, including 5 round-trip flights between Vinh and Ho Chi Minh City and 2 round-trip flights between Vinh and Hanoi.
Vietjet will also operate the Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh route from December 19th, with an expected 5 round-trip flights per day, and 6 round-trip flights every Saturday.
Previously, from July 1st, Vinh Airport temporarily suspended operations to facilitate infrastructure upgrades.
During this period, airlines had to suspend all flights to and from Vinh, while increasing the frequency of flights to nearby airports such as Noi Bai and Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), and Dong Hoi (Quang Tri) to ensure that the travel needs of passengers in the North Central region were not disrupted.
Opened in late 2003, Vinh Airport currently has a designed capacity of 2.75 million passengers per year, serving an average of 21-26 flights per day.
The Vinh International Airport upgrade project commenced on July 1st with a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND, with the Vietnam Airports Corporation as the investor, and is expected to be completed in 180 days.
The main items include repairing the runway and taxiway, expanding the apron, and upgrading the passenger terminal.
