Supermarkets and local markets in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, and Hue were crowded with shoppers buying "bargain" goods on the last day of the old year, but not as bustling as the previous two days.
In Hue , many people rushed to finish selecting their remaining goods at Go! Hue before the supermarket closed at 2 PM. An employee there said that the number of shoppers on the 30th day of the Lunar New Year was quite large, as this is one of the city's major shopping and goods supply points.
"Many Tet holiday goods are heavily discounted, which makes people want to buy more," this person said.

In Ho Chi Minh City , the Coopmart Cong Quynh supermarket (District 5) is open until 12 PM. The number of shoppers remains high, but it's not as bustling as the previous two days.
Supermarket staff said that this morning the system continued to import more herbs to meet people's needs, while the common fresh vegetable counters, such as jute mallow and various types of cabbage, were completely empty.
"The supermarket has reduced the prices of flowers used for Tet decorations to boost sales at the end of the year," an employee said.

At wholesale markets, traders imported goods the night before, arriving around 5 am today. Stalls with remaining stock are selling off their remaining goods at bargain prices, with many fruits experiencing "rock-bottom" prices. For example, a box of 18 kg Rosy apples is now only 550,000 VND, or just 30,000 VND per kg; Thai golden tangerines are only 20,000 VND per kg; green-skinned pink pomelos are 30,000 VND per kg; and Buddha's hand citron is 30,000 VND per fruit. Many stalls are also clearing out their stock of gladiolus and chrysanthemums for only 20,000-50,000 VND per bunch (depending on the type). Prices for these items have dropped by 40-50% compared to before.
In Hanoi , people are still doing extra shopping for the upcoming Tet holiday. At Big C Ha Dong, staff said the store is open until 2 PM. Many shelves of vegetables, fruits, and confectionery were empty by noon.

Similarly, at the nearby Coopmart supermarket, many aisles were also out of stock and were being cleared by staff. A supermarket representative said demand increased sharply from around the 26th to the 29th of Tet (Lunar New Year). Popular items included meat, fruit, dried food, household goods, confectionery, and Tet jams.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Director of Operations at Co.opmart, said that the retail units of the system have reached their highest level since the start of the Tet holiday business program. In the last week, the system welcomed more than 2.2 million customers, with purchasing power increasing 2-3 times compared to a normal month.
