At 6:02 PM, swimmer Tran Hung Nguyen finished first in the men's 200m individual medley with a time of 2 minutes 02.11 seconds, winning the gold medal. Also in this event, athlete Nguyen Quang Thuan (Anh Vien's younger brother) finished third with a time of 2 minutes 04.19 seconds, winning the bronze medal.
At 5:15 PM, chess , the first day of competition in chess concluded with the Vietnamese team winning a bronze medal in the Makruk blitz team event. This achievement is a promising start for the Vietnamese sports delegation.
At 4:45 PM, in Taekwondo, the team of martial artists Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Tran Ho Duy, Le Tran Kim Uyen, Nguyen Phan Khanh Han, Nguyen Thi Y Binh, and Tram Dang Khoa excellently won the gold medal in the team creative poomsae event. This is the second gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.

At 3:45 PM, in canoeing , Nguyen Thi Huong and Diep Thi Huong excellently won the medal in the women's 500m doubles event with a time of 2 minutes and 06 seconds. This is the first gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.

12:10 PM, Taekwondo, two fighters Nguyen Thi Kim Ha and Nguyen Trong Phuc lost on points to their Singaporean opponents in the final of the mixed doubles kata performance event. At 11:28 AM, in Taekwondo, the pair Nguyen Trong Phuc and Nguyen Thi Kim Ha defeated Thailand in the semi-finals, giving them a chance to win the gold medal in the mixed doubles standard poomsae.

10:45 AM: Tran Huu Tuan and To Anh Minh win the second medal for Vietnam at the 33rd SEA Games. They won the bronze medal in the Men's Duo Show event in Ju-Jitsu, finishing behind two pairs from Thailand.

9:15 AM: Thailand wins its first gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games. In the women's individual creative poomsae (moon) Taekwondo event, Thai athlete Limjitakorn won the gold medal after defeating Singapore and Laos by a significant margin. This is the first gold medal awarded at the 33rd SEA Games.

This is the first official day of competition at the 33rd SEA Games, where Vietnamese athletes will compete in 14 sports. Many of these are strong disciplines, having previously brought home numerous gold medals for Vietnam at previous SEA Games. The most anticipated events are canoeing and taekwondo, which will begin at 9:00 AM.
The canoeing team will compete with the following athletes: Pham Hong Quan in the men's 500m single canoe and the women's 500m double canoe (Nguyen Thi Huong, Diep Thi Huong), and the 500m mixed quadruple sculls (Hoang Duy, Mai Hanh, Hoang Thi Huong, Thanh Danh). The most anticipated are the duo Nguyen Thi Huong and Diep Thi Huong.
With a series of poomsae (forms) finals starting as early as 9 am, taekwondo is highly likely to be the first sport to win medals, or even gold medals, for Vietnam at the 33rd SEA Games.
Notable names include: Nguyen Trong Phuc and Nguyen Thi Kim Ha in the mixed doubles; Pham Quoc Viet, Nguyen Thien Phung, and Nguyen Trong Phuc in the men's team event; and Le Ngoc Han, Le Tran Kim Uyen, and Nguyen Thi Kim Ha in the women's team event...
In addition, the cycling events also featured the men's and women's mountain bike finals. According to the registration of the Vietnamese mountain bike team's coaching staff, cyclist Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang was chosen to lead the way in the downhill mountain bike event.
