The forum, held in person at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, was attended by approximately 600 students. Meanwhile, six student and youth organizations from ASEAN countries, along with representatives from 10 Vietnamese Student Associations in various countries (UK, Australia, Russia, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, etc.), participated online from different locations.
Students run the forum.
The first noteworthy point is that the forum was entirely run by students in terms of organization and execution. The maturity of the students is evident, as the event involved not only students from Ho Chi Minh City but also representatives from international student organizations, and everything ran quite smoothly.
From Ho Chi Minh City, Vo Lap Phuc (Ho Chi Minh City University of Education) chose the ASEAN logo and the "Excellent Student" award logo to share that Vietnamese students in general, and students in Ho Chi Minh City in particular, are very interested in learning about this regional organization.
According to Phuc, the ASEAN Youth Index includes a criterion on youth awareness. "We can confidently say that the outstanding students are contributing to the ASEAN youth force, and each student in Ho Chi Minh City is ready to strive, train, and become ASEAN citizens," Phuc stated.
Meanwhile, student Kieu Anh (University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) spoke about the volunteer activities that generations of students in Ho Chi Minh City have carried out, leaving many positive social impacts and being highly appreciated by people in many places.
Meanwhile, Quy Pham (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education) spoke about the innovative products created by students themselves, applying technology and digital transformation, reflecting the dynamic, creative, and perceptive characteristics of today's Generation Z students.
Students in Ho Chi Minh City also proactively participate in and design activities to give students the opportunity to access and interact with international academic and scientific research platforms. This was shared by Dang Le Minh Khang, a "Typical Young Citizen of Ho Chi Minh City" and currently a student at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City. These touches create a dynamic, creative, and energetic image of students in Ho Chi Minh City.
We encourage and are ready to act as a bridge to enable schools to proactively expand opportunities for cooperation with international student organizations as well as existing Vietnamese Student Associations in other countries.
Ms. TRAN THU HA
Student Union acts as a bridge.
According to Tran Thu Ha, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union, this first forum, aimed at fostering mutual understanding, chose the theme "Action for Students" with the hope that students would connect with each other, access and contribute more to national issues, especially the activities and organization of the Student Union.
In their presentations, representatives from international student organizations introduced their activities and expressed their desire for further collaboration and sharing of activities with students in Ho Chi Minh City in the future. Similarly, representatives from the Vietnamese Student Association in several countries also expressed their wish to share their experiences with the student movement in Ho Chi Minh City.
Furthermore, Vietnamese student organizations in various countries are very willing to support, connect, and share with Vietnamese students studying abroad, so as to form a strong and interconnected Vietnamese student community.
"This activity reveals opportunities for collaboration, particularly in empowering students and fostering collective action among young people for the sustainable development of society and each nation. Students can participate in community projects worldwide to bring about more positive change for people," said Ms. Thu Ha.
