On the afternoon of December 22, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to summarize the work of 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024 of the industry and trade sector.

In 2023, despite many difficulties, the industry and trade sector has implemented many flexible, synchronous and effective solutions, so the industrial and commercial production value of the province still achieved positive results. The index of industrial production (IIP) of the whole industry increased by 10.55%, the industrial production value is estimated at 103,750 billion VND, up 8.5%, total retail sales and consumer service revenue is estimated at 69,212 billion VND, up 15.3%, export turnover is estimated at 2,601 million USD, up 6%, import turnover is estimated at 1,769 million USD, down 19.9% compared to 2022.
In 2024, the industry and trade sector aims to achieve an industrial production value of VND 113,400 - 115,060 billion, an increase of 9.3 - 10.9%; total turnover of goods and service revenue of VND 76,135 billion, an increase of 10% and export turnover of 6.2% or more, import turnover of 9.4% or more compared to 2023. The whole sector agreed to deploy 4 groups of key tasks and solutions; focusing on removing difficulties, supporting businesses to operate effectively, developing industrial and commercial infrastructure, developing the domestic market, stimulating consumption and boosting exports, and strongly reforming administrative procedures to contribute to improving the investment and business environment.
Speaking at the conference, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee basically agreed with the development goals and solutions set by the industry and trade sector. However, with the forecast of many difficulties and challenges, in order to achieve those plans and goals, he suggested that the whole sector should persistently follow the goals and market developments to promptly have flexible and practical solutions. Support businesses to speed up the progress of infrastructure investment in industrial clusters; proactively remove bottlenecks, bottlenecks, and obstacles for businesses to ensure substance and efficiency. Continue to promote investment promotion activities, solutions to improve the investment and business environment and support businesses. Increase investment attraction to build commercial infrastructure, strongly develop the domestic market, and expand the international market. Synchronously implement market management measures, combat smuggling, trade fraud, protect consumer rights... In the immediate future, the industry and trade sector will effectively implement market stabilization work, a peak plan against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the 2024 Lunar New Year.
