Online and have a reception point
On the morning of July 1, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting to review the results of the first 6 months of the year and deploy the work program for the last 6 months of 2025. This was a special meeting with the presence of leaders and key officials from Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , two localities that have just merged with Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, called this "the largest meeting ever of the Department", demonstrating the proactiveness, determination and readiness to immediately get to work after the new management model officially comes into operation.
Regarding administrative reform and technology application, sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Vu said that the Department has completed setting up accounts and deploying interconnected software to serve the settlement of administrative procedures.
This system was activated on June 30 and officially operated from July 1. Therefore, the reception of documents from people and businesses is basically carried out through the national document reception system and the electronic system of Ho Chi Minh City.
"This process is going smoothly, without any significant obstacles. For public reception and business support, the Department has arranged reception points for all three areas, ensuring convenience throughout the region," said Mr. Vu.
In addition, promoting online public services helps many procedures to be resolved online, creating conditions for "officers to handle work effectively, no longer dependent on work location".
Identify new growth drivers
At the meeting, representatives of specialized departments from Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong , and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old) presented the results of the first 6 months of the year and the key plan for the last 6 months of the year, aiming for double-digit growth for the entire region.
Mr. Vu emphasized that during the transition period, units need to synthesize and evaluate results comprehensively on a regional scale, based on the synthesis from the three integrated localities. This is to fully and objectively record the efforts of the entire system during the transition period, and at the same time establish a common basis for comparison and contrast in the next period.
The main content of this meeting is to discuss solutions and motivational mechanisms to promote the development of industry and trade in the coming period.
The officials attending the meeting agreed that Ho Chi Minh City currently has many new opportunities to promote growth in areas such as industrial production, trade, logistics and clean energy. On that basis, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade will soon collect opinions from units, businesses and experts, serving to complete the development strategy of the industry and trade sector, in the field of industry and trade in the new management context.
Through these activities, the industry and trade sector aims to reposition development space, establish new growth drivers, and contribute to the goal of comprehensive development for Vietnam's first "megacity" with about 14 million people.
