The activities are organized to introduce the cultural features of early spring with rituals, festivals, customs and practices to help visitors better understand the traditional culture and characteristics of ethnic groups, contributing to preserving, promoting and popularizing national cultural values; enhancing exchanges between ethnic groups, solidarity, cohesion and mutual support for development on the occasion of the New Year 2026.
Demonstrating the traditional culture of ethnic groups through the highland market space and activities welcoming the new year 2026 contributes to cultural exchange, regional connection, mutual support in development; enhancing the content of daily and weekend activities and events promoting the strengths of cultural entities to create attractive destinations for tourists, gradually perfecting tourism products at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.
December activities with the participation of more than 100 compatriots of 16 ethnic groups (Nung, Tay, Dao, Mong, Muong, Lao, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Ba Na, Xo Dang, Gia Rai, Co Tu, Raglai, E De, Khmer) with the participation of 11 localities where compatriots have daily activities (Thai Nguyen, Hanoi , Phu Tho, Son La, Tuyen Quang, Hue, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Can Tho). Mobilizing about 25 Co Tu compatriots, Da Nang city on December 6 and 7, 2025. Mobilizing an additional 24 Kho Mu and Mong compatriots (including 8 Mong compatriots, 16 Kho Mu compatriots) in Huoi Mot commune, Son La province on January 1, 2, 3, and 4, 2026.

The highlight of December is the activities introducing the cultural colors of the Co Tu people in Da Nang city at the "Common House".
The December program includes reenacting the Twinning Ceremony (Pro Ngooch) of the Co Tu people in Da Nang city; cultural and artistic exchange "Echoes of the Great Forest"; introducing cuisine and experiencing the traditional cultural space of the Co Tu people.
The highlight activities of the New Year 2026 program are recreating the space of "Highland Market - Welcome New Year 2026", introducing and performing traditional handicrafts of highland ethnic groups, the folk song and dance program "Colors of the New Year Market", recreating the Harvest Prayer Ceremony of the Kho Mu ethnic group, Huoi Mot commune, Son La province and introducing and experiencing the five-color sticky rice of the northern ethnic groups that are active daily in the Village.
The Highland Market is one of the favorite activities of tourists in the Village. This year's Highland Market recreates the colorful cultural space of the highland ethnic groups meeting together, looking back on the past year and joyfully welcoming the new year 2026 at the "Common House" with the theme "Highland Market - Welcome the new year 2026". The highlight is the combination of the joyful atmosphere of the market, folk songs, folk dances, folk games (bamboo jumping, throwing con ...), ethnic cuisine, local products, traditional crafts with the colors of the Northern ethnic groups operating daily in the Village, the Khmu and Mong ethnic groups in Huoi Mot commune, Son La province and the highland traders invited to participate in the market.
At the fair, there are about 40 booths introducing local products, traditional cuisine and drinks to serve the needs of visitors. Visitors have the opportunity to experience activities introducing folk knowledge of northern ethnic cuisine such as colored sticky rice, highland rice rolls... through the guidance of culinary artisans. In addition, there is a "Colors of the Market" painting exhibition area introducing the beauty of the land and people of the highlands from the painting fund being stored and promoted at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.
On weekends, visitors can experience activities introducing folk games, traditional crafts, unique ethnic cuisine, folk song and dance exchanges, etc. with groups of ethnic groups from the North and the Central Highlands living in the Village.
The folk song and dance program "Joy of Welcoming the New Year" with performances about the joy of welcoming the New Year of the people recreates the joyful atmosphere of the New Year. In addition, the program introducing the reunion dinner on the last day of the year is also an attractive highlight. Each village with people living and working in the Village will introduce the typical dishes of their ethnic group on holidays and Tet. The group of ethnic people who are working every day will prepare 16 dishes containing the beauty of traditional culinary culture and wishes to dispel bad luck in the old year, praying for a prosperous new year.
In addition, traditional cultural experience activities are organized enthusiastically with folk games such as: playing mandarin squares, checkers, bamboo puppets... in indoor spaces; walking on stilts, dancing on bamboo poles, swinging, seesaw... in outdoor spaces. Through some simple games, not only do they help students experience, learn, and explore nature and animals, contributing to training thinking skills, creativity, and dexterity, but they also strengthen friendship and family love../.
