The competition, with the participation of 34 subordinate units, aimed to create positive changes, consolidate and improve overall capabilities, and establish a regular and disciplined system for stations and workshops at all levels; while also training and improving the all-round skills of technical staff, station and workshop personnel, and drivers in the armed forces. The General Repair Station of the Da Nang City Military Command was selected for units throughout Military Region 5 to visit and learn from.

P. Upholding the Heroic Tradition

The General Repair Station of the Da Nang City Military Command, formerly known as the "X74" Ordnance Factory, the first "Engineering Workshop" in Quang Da province, was established on June 15, 1960. During the resistance war against the US, the "X74" Ordnance Factory produced various weapons such as cast iron grenades, steel grenades, chemical grenades, hand grenades, and various types of mines. In 2005, the "X74" Ordnance Factory, now the General Repair Station under the Technical Department of the Da Nang City Military Command, was awarded the title of "Hero Unit of the People's Armed Forces".

The competition also provides a good opportunity for units to share and learn from each other's experiences in building a disciplined system, mastering weapons and technical equipment, and mastering repair technology to best serve the tasks of the Armed Forces in the new phase.

Colonel Tran Quang Vinh, Deputy Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command, stated that the General Repair Station is tasked with performing technical maintenance and repair of weapons and technical equipment according to the assigned responsibilities; promoting technical innovation and improvement, applying scientific and technological advancements to the repair and maintenance of technical equipment, producing technical supplies, managing technical facilities, and gradually consolidating and modernizing technology to meet mission requirements.

By linking the emulation movement to implement the campaign "Managing and exploiting weapons and technical equipment well, durably, safely, economically, and ensuring traffic safety" with the movement to promote initiatives and technical improvements, the unit has had many initiatives applied in performing tasks and widely disseminated to other units in Military Region 5, such as: a 12.7 mm ammunition loading machine, a detonator positioning guide, an improved 2-layer - 3-layer tangle barrier, a mobile paint table for 82 mm mortars, 60 mm mortars, etc.

READY FOR THE FESTIVAL

Emphasizing the importance of the competition, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huu Binh, Head of Technical Department of the Da Nang City Military Command, said that they had developed a plan, organized briefings, assigned specific tasks to each department, and formed teams of skilled and capable technicians with a thorough understanding of weapons and technical equipment to participate in the competition and achieve the best possible results.

Over the years, the General Repair Station of the Da Nang City Military Command has conducted technical inspections and maintenance on 60,000 artillery pieces of various types; participated in collecting, transporting, and disposing of 28.2 tons of post-war explosives handed over by localities and units; and provided mobile technical support for live firing exercises, competitions, and sports events at all levels within the city's armed forces nearly 1,400 times.

In addition, the station also participates in the production of LD-90 grenades; coordinates the painting and refurbishment of tanks and armored vehicles; organizes the maintenance and repair of canoes and the renovation of rescue boats for flood control and search and rescue missions; manufactures nearly 2,000 new training models; and repairs barracks facilities of various units… Notably, 100% of the vehicles and equipment, after maintenance and repair, are put into use in good technical condition and operate safely.

Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Cong Thien, Head of the General Repair Station of the Da Nang City Military Command, also stated that the entire unit has focused on implementing technical work procedures, consolidating infrastructure, and strengthening technological processes to ensure the competition meets all requirements. At the same time, he encouraged officers and staff to strive for self-learning and self-improvement, with each individual proactively overcoming difficulties to complete tasks quickly and accurately, contributing to the station's overall achievements. "With thorough preparation, officers and staff participating in the competition will gain additional knowledge and experience to improve their skills in maintaining and repairing weapons and technical equipment. The competition is also a good opportunity for the unit to share and learn from each other's experiences in building a standardized system, mastering weapons and technical equipment, and mastering repair technology to best serve the tasks of the Armed Forces in the new phase," Lieutenant Colonel Thien shared.
