Searching for the new "Hoang Duc" at the National U11 Children's Tournament
Sharing at the press conference, journalist Phan Viet Hung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, said that last night he flew from Hanoi to Tam Ky and stayed at Phu Long Hotel.
Coincidentally, he stayed at the same hotel with several football teams participating in the "four-team" Thien Long Cup, including Ninh Binh team, which had player Nguyen Hoang Duc - a pillar of the Vietnam National Football Team.
Mr. Tao Viet Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City shared information at the press conference.
Mr. Hung recalled that 16 years ago, when the tournament was held in Hai Duong, Nguyen Hoang Duc and Hai Duong won the championship cup, Hoang Duc was selected into the team of 10 typical players.
"After that season, Hoang Duc continued to develop. We feel very happy because through such a playground, many talented players were discovered, trained, matured and later contributed to the Vietnam team.
Coincidentally, the hotel where I stayed and held the press conference today had a former player who participated in the tournament. Hopefully, this year's tournament will have talented players discovered and later become big names in the country's football" - journalist Phan Viet Hung hopes.
Mr. Tao Viet Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, said that in the coming time, he will try to organize major national sports events, even tournaments of Southeast Asian or continental scale, in the southern area of Da Nang (formerly Tam Ky City), so that the people here have the opportunity to enjoy spiritual life, promote the passion for sports of the young generation as well as contribute to stimulating trade and services.
