Sudan wants to find a comprehensive and lasting peace solution

On December 3, Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan declared that any negotiations that do not meet the wishes of the Sudanese people will not be accepted.

Speaking at a military meeting in Wad Madani, the capital of Gezira state, Mr. Al-Burhan stressed that Sudan will not allow foreigners to impose any solution.

Mr. Al-Burhan affirmed that Sudan approaches the negotiations with an open heart, to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting peace . Moreover, because the solution lies on Sudan's soil, the parties must negotiate with the Sudanese people.

Sudan's commander-in-chief has said the country's army will continue its fight to defeat the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

He stressed that Sudan is ready to cooperate with the international community, welcoming the appearance of the new special envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Sudan Ramtane Lamamra, while warning: "We do not want a special envoy who sides with any faction or group."
