Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Lam Hai commune, Nam Can district, Ca Mau province said that for more than a month now, crab prices have dropped sharply.

If before, the price of male crab was about 300,000 VND/kg, now traders buy it for 230,000 VND/kg; the price of female crab is 130,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 60,000-80,000 VND/kg compared to last month.

Mr. Huong informed that because people usually eat vegetarian food in the 7th lunar month, the price of crabs decreases. Traders said that the price of crabs may increase again after the Mid-Autumn Festival (15th of the 8th lunar month), which is around mid-September.
