Moon cakes of unknown origin

At the time of inspection, the Inspection Team discovered that TH Business Household was selling 7,800 moon cakes of all kinds without invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods. The products and accompanying documents had no basis to determine the origin of the goods. The Inspection Team made a record, temporarily detained all of the above goods, completed the file and submitted it to the Captain of Market Management Team No. 1 to issue a Decision on administrative sanctions in accordance with the provisions of law.

Previously, on August 31, 2024, Market Management Team No. 1 also inspected, discovered and fined 27,500,000 VND for 02 businesses selling 2,031 moon cakes, 450 ham cakes and 224 sponge cakes of unknown origin.

To welcome a warm and happy Mid-Autumn Festival, Market Management Team No. 1 recommends that people should be cautious when buying cheap confectionery (especially moon cakes) of unknown origin. When choosing and using moon cakes, consumers should note that the product must have a clear origin such as the name of the manufacturer, the address of the place of production, instructions for use, preservation... Absolutely do not choose or buy floating products, expired products, damaged packaging, or deformed products.
