On December 15th, according to the Kien Giang Provincial Maritime Authority, all high-speed boats and ferries operating on the Rach Gia - Phu Quoc, Rach Gia - Nam Du, Ha Tien - Phu Quoc routes and vice versa had to temporarily suspend operations due to bad weather.
However, high-speed boats operating on inland waterways near the coast from Rach Gia to Kien Hai and Lai Son; from Ha Tien to Tien Hai; and from Kien Luong to Hon Nghe, and vice versa, are still operating normally.
Ferry services to Phu Quoc and Nam Du have been temporarily suspended.
The shipping and ferry companies promptly notified agents and customers who had booked tickets. They also carried out procedures for changing, transferring, or refunding tickets to ensure passenger safety.
According to the Southern Vietnam Regional Hydrometeorological Station, on the morning of December 15th, the sea areas of Kien Giang, Phu Quoc, Ca Mau , and the Gulf of Thailand were cloudy with showers, heavy rain, and thunderstorms in many places, combined with strong northeasterly winds of level 5-6, gusting to level 7-8, with waves 1.5-2m high and rough seas.
