The Management Board of specialized traffic and civil projects in Ba Ria – Vung Tau (HCMC) is focusing on implementing 3 key projects on the route connecting to the expressway, with a total investment of more than 13,800 billion VND from the budget. These are strategic projects, not only serving the exploitation of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway but also opening up new development space for urban – industrial – seaport and coastal tourism .

Specifically, the road project connecting National Highway 56 to Vung Van intersection has a total investment of more than 6,707 billion VND, implemented in the period 2023-2027. These days, the construction site is bustling with groups of engineers and workers urgently handling weak soil, filling sand, drilling piles, preparing for the road surface completion phase.

The second project is the road connecting Vung Van intersection to DT994 coastal road, with a total capital of more than VND 5,193 billion, to start construction at the end of 2024. Site clearance work has achieved positive results, creating favorable conditions for the project to follow the set schedule.

In particular, the Vung Tau main road project, from DT994 to roundabout 51B - 51C, with a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND, has been under construction since June 2025. Up to now, items such as roadbeds, bridges and auxiliary branch lines have been deployed synchronously, aiming to soon form a complete connecting traffic axis.

The project group connecting to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is considered an important "infrastructure lever" of the entire Southeast region. When completed, the routes will form a synchronous traffic network, significantly shortening travel time from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai , coastal areas...
Not only improving traffic, the projects also contribute to the optimal exploitation of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, reducing pressure on National Highway 51 - a route that has been overloaded for many years. Transport volume, especially goods from Cai Mep - Thi Vai port, is expected to be allocated more reasonably, contributing to improving logistics capacity, reducing transportation costs for businesses, and facilitating the supply chain and industrial development.

In addition to the significance of transportation and logistics, these connecting routes also open up opportunities for coastal urban-industrial-service development. Areas that were previously sparsely populated and had limited connectivity now have the opportunity to attract strong investment, creating momentum for sustainable economic development.
For the tourism industry, the complete connecting axis will increase the attractiveness of Vung Tau ward and neighboring urban areas. Shorter travel time is forecasted to attract a sharp increase in the number of visitors from Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to increasing service revenue and promoting the development of sea tourism.
