On the afternoon of October 25th, the Trade Promotion Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized an information session on the Exhibition of Export OCOP Products (VIETNAM OCOPEX).
At the presentation, Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), stated that, in implementing the "Strategy for Import and Export of Goods until 2030"; the National Program on Trade Promotion in 2024; and based on actual needs, in order to effectively support businesses, cooperatives, and OCOP entities to participate more deeply in the global production and supply chain, contributing to promoting the development of potential OCOP products of Vietnamese localities, aiming for export... the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance have jointly organized the Exhibition of Export OCOP Products (VIETNAM OCOPEX).
VIETNAM OCOPEX will take place from October 31st to November 4th, 2024 at the Venice area of Ocean Park 3 urban area, Hanoi .
The exhibition participants include foreign businesses, organizations, individuals, international delegations; city businesses, city industry associations; localities; and manufacturing businesses in sectors such as: processed food, agricultural and forestry products, textiles, leather and footwear, handicrafts, household goods, etc.
Accordingly, the exhibition area, with 250 booths, is dedicated to more than 150 businesses with OCOP products rated 3, 4, and 5 stars, showcasing and promoting their products according to two themes: Region and Sector/Product.
"To date, more than 30 provinces and cities have registered to participate with their distinctive OCOP products. At the exhibition, localities will be able to promote their OCOP products and participate in the global production and supply chain. At the same time, it will provide the most practical and direct support for local businesses and industries, opening up opportunities for business cooperation with foreign partners," said the Director of the Trade Promotion Department.
Assessing the significance of the exhibition, the Director of the Trade Promotion Department emphasized that the exhibition aims to boost exports, support Vietnamese businesses in directly exporting key products and OCOP products with national advantages to foreign distribution networks, participate extensively in the global value chain, and proactively integrate into the world economy;
Simultaneously, it introduces and creates connections between OCOP entities and foreign businesses, as well as foreign representative offices and trade promotion organizations in Vietnam. This helps foreign representative offices access information about the market and unique OCOP products of localities, creating conditions for direct and visual connection with OCOP entities when needed.

The exhibition also contributes to extensively promoting Vietnam to international distribution channels and importers – a rich and diverse source of high-quality OCOP products that meet international standards and the needs and requirements of major distribution channels worldwide; it also promotes, advertises, and showcases high-quality OCOP products, contributing to further boosting the socio-economic development of the country.
According to the Director of the Trade Promotion Department: "Participating in the 2024 OCOP Export Products Exhibition will open opportunities for OCOP businesses to access foreign enterprises, representative offices, and foreign trade promotion organizations in Vietnam."
"Furthermore, meeting experienced experts in the import-export field at the Exhibition will support OCOP businesses in innovating their production thinking and organizing production in a systematic and sustainable manner," said the Director of the Trade Promotion Department.
In addition, this is also an opportunity for foreign representative offices and trade promotion organizations to access information about the market and OCOP-standard products of localities;
Export businesses, domestic distributors, and foreign distributors in Vietnam will have the opportunity to meet reputable OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities, expanding and diversifying their sources of supply.
This is also an opportunity for importers to discover new and potential OCOP products from Vietnam, thereby creating opportunities for information exchange and connecting supply and demand, bringing OCOP products to the international market.
At the same time, VIETNAM OCOPEX also features several key activities such as: a seminar on "Connecting and promoting the consumption of OCOP products into modern distribution systems abroad"; and the introduction of a pilot sales session for the "Agricultural Product Trade Exchange" (within the framework of the Project on Innovation in Agricultural Product Consumption Methods (Project 194)) to gather feedback from businesses, associations, localities, etc.
To prepare for the VIETNAM OCOPEX Exhibition, the Trade Promotion Department is actively coordinating with localities and relevant units to attract potential OCOP businesses to participate. The organizing committee will also hold communication, promotion, and trade promotion activities to attract more international importers to attend the event.
VIETNAM OCOPEX is expected to contribute to promoting the development of potential OCOP products from Vietnamese localities, helping them conquer foreign markets and create momentum in the international market.
