Training on AI application in tourism industry in Quang Ninh

The training program aims to concretize the implementation of Resolution No. 57 dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo and Plan 01-KH/BCĐ dated April 17, 2025 of the Central Steering Committee on science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province suggested: In the cultural field, AI can support the digitization of heritage, preservation and restoration of traditional cultural values. We can digitize ancient documents, create virtual museums, or restore images and sounds of traditional festivals. This helps convey cultural values ​​to the community in a vivid way, especially the younger generation.

In the field of sports, AI can be applied to analyze athlete performance, build personalized training programs, monitor injury recovery, and predict competition results. This will help improve sports performance, professionalize training, and support the organization of scientific and effective sports events.

In the tourism sector, AI helps enhance the experience for tourists through virtual assistant applications, smart itinerary suggestions, and tourism data analysis to build effective promotional strategies. The application of chatbots in tourism consulting, automatic language translation, or virtual reality - augmented reality (VR/AR) technology in introducing scenic spots will create new appeal for the Quang Ninh tourism industry.

By analyzing factors such as travel dates, budgets and personal preferences, AI-powered systems can come up with travel plans tailored to each traveler and seamlessly integrate with booking platforms. This makes the process from planning to booking easier, faster and more cost-effective. According to the Organizing Committee, 90% of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the public sector in the province have an understanding of digital transformation, digital knowledge and skills, and can use digital platforms and services for work; learn and apply AI platforms to support their work. 90% of cadres, civil servants and public employees participate in and complete a basic course on digital transformation at http://binhdanhocvuso.gov.vn. 100% of agencies and units in the province establish a group of core cadres, civil servants and public employees to spread the movement within their agencies and units.

At the training session, delegates listened to experts introduce and provide specific instructions on how to use AI software; propose directions for applying AI technology in practice to achieve the most optimal efficiency;... In addition, experts also shared lessons learned and the impact of AI when applying to build digital government, digital enterprises domestically and in many developed countries.

Ms. Pham Thanh Nga - Deputy Head of Sales and Marketing Department of Saigon Ha Long Hotel shared that the hotel has applied AI in describing, analyzing and assigning work. AI is also used to schedule meetings, schedule work for the week and month. At the same time, AI supports in standardizing some of the hotel's internal regulations. In addition, after participating in the AI ​​course organized by the Department, I learned a lot and wanted to know more about AI tools, their strengths and limitations to combine and exploit them better.

Mr. Ngo Quang Quyen of the Quang Ninh provincial art troupe said that AI technology has been applied to a number of tasks at the unit such as: working on administrative documents, supporting learning work. In particular, AI is used to create images and videos to promote beautiful images of Quang Ninh. Mr. Quyen emphasized that using beautiful scenery to create videos using AI technology currently brings "relatively good" results. However, it should be noted that when using these technology applications, it should not be abused. Instead, the use of software should be based on the foundation of the real beautiful scenery of Quang Ninh. AI technology is used as a support tool to make videos/images, not relying entirely on AI to create virtual images. Through this technology lesson, Mr. Ngo Quang Quyen felt that he had expanded his knowledge about AI technology. The results obtained from this lesson were relatively good.

Through the training session, delegates, especially heads of agencies and units, will gain more skills and knowledge in applying AI and developing digital platforms to serve management, operations, implementation of professional tasks and tasks, and cultural promotion.
