Party cell activities on the sacred border land

On December 6, Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School ( Hanoi National University of Education) had a working trip - study thematically according to the plan of the Party Cell in Lai Chau. Leading the delegation was Dr. Pham Sy Cuong - Party Cell Secretary - Principal of the school. Also participating in the working delegation were teachers and staff.   Party members, outstanding people working at the school and representatives of the Parents' Association.

In the small conference room of Ma Lu Thang Border Guard Station, the Party cell meeting was held in a solemn atmosphere, showing respect and gratitude for the fighting and sacrificial tradition of generations of border guards.

Ma Lu Thang Border Guard Station is located in Phong Tho commune, Lai Chau province, near Ma Lu Thang International Border Gate, about 50 km from Lai Chau city. This is a unit with a heroic tradition, marking the sacrifice of armed police soldiers (predecessor of the Border Guard) to preserve territorial sovereignty .

Party members were also provided with information by Lieutenant Colonel Quan Anh Tuan - Chief of Ma Lu Thang Border Guard Station about the development history of Ma Lu Thang Border Guard Station and the achievements of the officers and soldiers here;   The life of a border guard soldier on duty to maintain border security, the times when he had to celebrate Tet away from home, carry out patrol duties regardless of rain or shine, and the efforts to stay close to the villages and people to support people in border areas to develop their lives and build a civilized lifestyle.

Sharing with the party members at the meeting, Dr. Pham Sy Cuong - Party cell secretary, Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School talked about the significance of the trip, about the responsibility of party members working as teachers in the new context; about the example of soldiers who are standing every day at the border of the Fatherland.

The Party Cell Secretary emphasized: Party cell activities right on the border land make each of us more aware of the value of peace , independence, and tranquility; more deeply aware of the responsibility of Party members in the cause of building and developing the country. This is not only an experiential trip but also an ideal cultivation.

Before the meeting, the delegation came to offer incense and flowers, express their gratitude and commemorate the martyrs of Ma Lu Thang unit who sacrificed their lives in the fight to protect the northern border in February 1979. The memorial stele is a work of profound spiritual significance, expressing the gratitude of today's generation to the martyrs, and is also a highlight in the border area.

At the end of the program, the delegation was led by Border Guard soldiers to visit Ma Lu Thang international border gate and visit the border line near the station.

On the sacred border land, standing next to the sovereignty pillar of the motherland, a teacher shared: “I have taught my students about sovereignty and borders, but today I really saw the border with my own eyes. Surely after this trip, the lesson   It would be better to teach students about patriotism and sacrifice, because it is not just knowledge from books. It is present here, in every soldier's footprint, in every grain of dust on the border, in every patch of blue sky on the mountain top. I also realized how great the work of a border guard is,   I hope to instill that gratitude into my students' lessons."

If the Party cell meeting is considered a regular activity, then this meeting of the Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School Party Cell has a value far beyond that framework. Placing political activities in the space of history, where the blood of martyrs once soaked, where the border is only a few steps away, has created a depth of awareness that the school hall environment - though full and serious - can hardly bring.

The meeting also created a resonance between the school and the border force: one side maintained the educational front, the other side maintained the border. When the two forces met, the values spread not only for the party members, but also returned to the school, becoming vivid lessons for the students.

Gifts that bring warmth

Not stopping at studying and participating in thematic activities, within the framework of this working trip, teachers of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School brought many gifts to give to students at Doan Ket Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - Phong Tho Commune, Lai Chau Province. The school is located on a small hill, separated from the main road by a shaky suspension bridge over a stream. When the working group arrived, the Dao and Thai students... were lined up neatly in the yard, their cheeks red from the frost.

In this community program, Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School presented 50 boarding meals and 3 solar water heaters to students of Doan Ket Primary Boarding School.   2 lunch cabinets worth 13 million VND, 2,419 books, 2 portable speakers, 5 solar-powered lamps; 300 stainless steel trays, 386 coats and woolen hats, 2,300 pairs of socks; 18 wool blankets, 3,860 lined notebooks, 60 bottles of 1-liter cooking oil, 250 spice packets, 30 boxes of instant noodles and a large number of school supplies for students...

These are gifts collected by teachers and parents of Nguyen Tat Thanh school to give to children in the highlands - a community program that has become a good tradition for many years of teachers, students and parents of Nguyen Tat Thanh school.

The gifts were arranged neatly on the school yard to be given to the students like a song of care. But the most touching moment was the moment when the teachers of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School bent down to put on each warm coat that still smelled of new fabric for the little students in the highlands. In the chilly space of   The mountain air made both the children receiving the shirts and the teachers wearing them feel the warmth spreading.

Also within the framework of the working program, teachers of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School also shared with teachers of Doan Ket Primary Boarding School their experiences in building and developing a reading culture for students (presentation by Ms. Ngoc Chau Van and Ms. Le Thi Thu); Experience in organizing extracurricular activities and clubs for students (presentation by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quy).

Moved by the gifts and sharing from her colleagues in the capital, Ms. Tran Thi Hang - principal of Doan Ket Primary School for Ethnic Minorities - choked up: “This is the first time we have received such a complete and thoughtful gift. Not only are the gifts for the students and their families like the gifts given by many other groups. Today, the teachers of Nguyen Tat Thanh School also gave gifts to us teachers. Teachers in mountainous areas like us often go around in activities to support students. Today, hearing the teachers share, we are extremely grateful.”

She unexpectedly revealed that she had read the article about “The dropped package of chips and the Principal’s worries” in the Vietnam Law Newspaper. Therefore, when she met Mr. Pham Sy Cuong – the teacher in the article – she was very moved. For a long time, through the articles, she had known and secretly admired him, wishing to connect, exchange and learn from colleagues of the school named after Uncle Ho.

On the way back, the car rolled through the   winding road frontier , the beautiful mountains and rivers are breathtaking, early winter, but the cold of the mountains has lessened a lot, because each person keeps a warm space within themselves. A warm space because of the connection between the border guard and the teacher. The warmth from each gift sent is a seed of love that is sown. And above all, that warmth is because the hearts of the teachers have touched the sacred heartbeat of the land of the border of the fatherland.
