Release 58 palm civets into the wild

Authorities have coordinated to release 58 palm civets into the natural environment at Vu Quang National Park (Ha Tinh province).

On July 18, Mr. Thai Canh Toan, Deputy Director of Vu Quang National Park ( Ha Tinh province) said that the unit had just coordinated with the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms - Cuc Phuong National Park, and the Vietnam Center for Conservation of Wildlife (Save Vietnam's Wildlife - SVW) to release 58 palm civets into the natural environment.

The palm civet was released into the wild.

The palm civet, scientifically named Paguma larvata, is a rare wild animal, listed in the List of endangered, precious and rare forest animals in group 2B.

These palm civets have been rescued and cared for by the Vietnam Wildlife Conservation Center to restore their health and adaptability.

After a period of close monitoring, the individuals met all the conditions to return to their natural habitat.

The release not only contributes to the restoration of species populations in the wild but also demonstrates the joint efforts of units in biodiversity conservation.

After being released into the forest, Vu Quang National Park will continue to monitor and protect the animals to ensure their safety and good adaptation to their new habitat.
