Faced with the above situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued a document requesting the Department of Health, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Education and Training, Management Board of Thai Nguyen Industrial Parks, Thai Nguyen University, Thai Nguyen College, People's Committees of communes, wards, relevant agencies and units to strictly implement the provisions of the Food Safety Law and related documents. In which, it emphasized and required "heads of food production and business establishments, units organizing collective kitchens must be responsible for food safety according to regulations".
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested educational and training establishments; medical facilities; and enterprises in the province to proactively develop plans to ensure food safety for collective kitchens at units, schools, and enterprises and send reports to competent authorities as prescribed.
At the same time, strengthen inter-sectoral coordination in inspection, examination and post-inspection at schools, medical facilities and enterprises; regularly monitor and inspect the compliance with food safety regulations from the origin of food, the process of processing, preserving, transporting, delivering food, three-step food inspection and keeping food samples at collective kitchens, food service establishments and street food. From there, promptly detect and resolutely handle violations of food safety regulations according to the provisions of law; publicize violations on the media to promptly warn the community.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested functional branches, units and localities to step up propaganda and education on food safety knowledge, measures to prevent and combat food poisoning suitable for each subject (workers, students, officers in charge of food safety, school staff...), pay attention to food hygiene and personal hygiene to raise awareness, change behaviors and habits that do not ensure food safety in choosing, preserving, processing and using food.
