Ai Tu town exploits potential and strengths for economic development

In recent times, the Party Committee and the government of Ai Tu town (Trieu Phong) have synchronously deployed solutions to exploit the potential and strengths of its geographical location between two large urban areas, Dong Ha city and Quang Tri town, with large, flat land that is not flooded to develop industry - small-scale industry, trade and services (TMDV). In particular, closely following Resolution No. 08/2012 of the District Party Committee on the development of industry - small-scale industry and TM-DSV to 2015, taking into account the year 2020 and many other leadership documents of the District Party Committee, the Party Committee of Ai Tu town has issued many documents for leadership and implementation.

The most outstanding result in the development of industry - handicrafts, trade - services that Ai Tu town has achieved is that people have increased their income by working in factories and enterprises right in their locality. Many families have two or three workers in factories in Dong Ai Tu Industrial Cluster, Ai Tu Industrial Cluster. Many families do trade - services right in their own homes with grocery stores, coffee shops, and food services.

More positive signals are that from the beginning of 2024 until now, Hoa Tho - Trieu Phong Garment Factory has started construction of phase 2 of the factory and PIVINA Quang Tri Garment Manufacturing and Processing Factory has been newly built at Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park. PIVINA Quang Tri Garment Manufacturing and Processing Factory with a total construction area of ​​nearly 66,000 ^m2 , a design capacity of 10 million products/year with a total investment of 20 million USD will come into operation at the end of 2024.

PIVINA Quang Tri Garment Manufacturing and Processing Factory is a smart factory with 90% use of robotic technology and automation in production, equipped with a solar power system to protect the environment. Currently, the construction unit is speeding up the construction progress of the factory to ensure the set plan.

Up to now, Hoa Tho - Trieu Phong Garment Factory is one of the largest and most modern garment factories in Quang Tri. The factory was established in 2020, with a total construction area of ​​49,000 m2, capable of producing more than 1 million garment products per year, mainly fashion clothes with more than 1,000 skilled workers, well-trained and regularly updated with new skills.

The factory applies advanced technology such as automatic cutting machines, industrial sewing machines, quality management systems and labor safety. The factory's quality has achieved many prestigious certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, WRAP and its products are exported to many major markets such as the US, Japan, Korea, and Germany.

Also at Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park, there is Sangshin Central Vietnam Factory (of Sangshin Central Vietnam Co., Ltd., a member of Sangshin Central Electronics Corporation of Korea) producing electronic components with an investment capital of nearly 3 million USD, which has been in operation for nearly a year. According to the design, phase 1 of the project will create jobs for nearly 300 workers, phase 2 will create jobs for an additional 300 workers.

Currently, Ai Tu Industrial Park has 12 enterprises approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment projects, of which 6 projects are in stable production and business, operating effectively, attracting over 350 workers. Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park has 20 enterprises approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment policies, of which many factories have come into operation, attracting nearly 1,500 workers.

Along with industrial production - handicrafts, Ai Tu town strongly develops trade and services. To promote trade and services development, Trieu Phong district and Ai Tu town implement many policies to attract investors to open services along National Highway 1, Thanh Co bypass, and the old Ai Tu airport area.

Up to now, many businesses have come to invest in the town's roads, including Hai Ha gas station, PETRORIMEX gas station, electronics stores and more than 600 local trade and service businesses, creating jobs for 1,200 workers.

Ai Tu market in the district center has been developing day by day, basically meeting the needs of trading, shopping and exchanging goods of people inside and outside the area. Currently, there are hundreds of small traders doing business at the market. Ai Tu market was invested in by the state and put into operation in December 2012 with a construction area of ​​3,253 m2 located on the land of the old Ai Tu airport. The market was designed to build 238 stalls with many areas of goods such as gold, shoes, clothes, fresh goods, garment services, and electronics repair with a total investment of about 20 billion VND.

Chairman of Ai Tu Town People's Committee Le Xuan Luong said that in the first 6 months of 2024, investment promotion work in Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park continued to be synchronously implemented by the district and town, so the industrial and handicraft production value was estimated at 153.97 billion VND. Trade and service establishments ensured enough goods to serve the people with stable, rich and diverse prices. Many trading establishments, food and beverage service businesses, and grocery stores are increasingly developing, creating a significant source of income for the locality and local people. The trade and service production value reached 227.9 billion VND.

In the coming time, the government of Ai Tu town will continue to implement the leadership documents of the District Party Committee on the development of industry - handicrafts, trade - services to mobilize development resources, at the same time, do a good job of industrial promotion and vocational training to increase income and employment for people.

Along with that, the town coordinates with superiors to urge enterprises to promote and accelerate the progress of investment projects at Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park according to schedule as well as support business establishments to invest in developing trade and services along National Highway 1, Thanh Co bypass, the eastern area of ​​the town, Tran Phu street, Ai Tu market and pay attention to developing high-quality services to serve the people and businesses.
