Vietnam News Agency pays tribute to heroic martyrs

(CLO) On February 14th, a delegation from the Vietnam News Agency's Southern Region Office organized a visit to the historical site, offering incense to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs; and visited, presented gifts, and congratulated Tan Phu Border Guard Station and Tan Nam International Border Gate Border Guard Station (under the Border Guard Command of Tay Ninh province).

This activity commemorates the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), the 66th anniversary of the Border Guard Force's Traditional Day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2025), and the 36th anniversary of the National Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2025).

At the Tan Nam International Border Gate Border Guard Station, a delegation from the Vietnam News Agency's Southern Region, the Vietnam News Agency's Veterans Association's Southern Region branch, and several other units presented gifts, visited, and encouraged the officers and soldiers of the Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard.

In a solemn and moving atmosphere, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Liberation News Agency Monument located in Lo Go-Xa Mat National Park (Tan Lap commune, Tan Bien district).

This place marks the 15 years of deployment and fighting for the cause of national liberation and reunification of the country by the staff, reporters, editors, and technicians of the Liberation News Agency, a part of the Central Committee of the Southern Region, the forward agency of the Vietnam News Agency (now Vietnam News Agency) in the Southern battlefield.

The delegation observed a minute of silence, expressing boundless gratitude and the deepest appreciation for the immense sacrifices of the heroes and martyrs who dedicated their youth, bravely fought, and sacrificed themselves for the independence and freedom of the nation, and for the happiness of the people.

In front of the Party flag, the national flag, and a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh , the Party Cell of the Administrative and Organizational Department, Southern Branch of the Center for Professional Training of the Vietnam News Agency, held a ceremony to admit new Party members according to the decision of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam News Agency.

According to Tran Trang Duong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam News Agency's Southern Region Office: The Vietnam News Agency has the largest number of martyrs in the entire national press system throughout the nation's resistance wars against foreign invaders. In particular, during the war against the American imperialists to save the country, the Liberation News Agency had a generation living, working, and fighting at the Chang Riệc base in Tan Bien district. Hundreds of martyrs from the Liberation News Agency sacrificed their lives and lie buried in Tay Ninh and other Southern provinces.

Generations of staff at the Vietnam News Agency's Southern region are determined to continue the glorious and indomitable revolutionary tradition of the Vietnam News Agency, uniting and working together to fulfill all assigned tasks in the new period.
