On the afternoon of December 3, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Chu Thanh Tan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Ning commune ( Dak Lak province), said that the local government had visited, encouraged, and given gifts to two young children who had been locked in a closed room by their biological father and not allowed to go to school.

According to Mr. Tan, the incident happened in Ea Ktur (Dak Lak province), so the police of this commune are clarifying the handling of the father. As for the two girls, 11 and 8 years old, they were brought to their grandparents' house in Ea Ning commune, the commune authorities are very concerned and supportive of them.

"Knowing that both children cannot go to school, we directed Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School to accept them into first grade.

Although the first semester of the school year is almost over, however, with the desire for the children to learn to read and write early and integrate with friends, today both children officially went to school to study," Mr. Tan said.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Ning commune informed that when the grandmother's family took them in to care for them, the two children's spirits were stable and no unusual signs were detected.

Regarding the incident, Mr. YSA (30 years old, uncle of the two girls) revealed that the mother of both girls died 6 years ago due to a traffic accident. After that, the father of the two girls came to pick them up and has lost contact since then.

On the night of November 30, Mr. YSA and his maternal family saw the image of his niece chained and locked in a dirty room, so they contacted the commune authorities to rescue the two children and take them home to raise and care for them.

As Dan Tri reported, recently, the social network Facebook posted a clip of a shirtless girl chained in a small, messy and dirty room. Because her legs were chained, the girl could not go outside, so all her activities, eating and hygiene had to be done in the room.

After determining that the incident occurred in village 5A, Ea Ktur commune, the commune police intervened to rescue the children. Among them, the 11-year-old girl had her legs chained by her father, while the remaining 8-year-old girl was locked in her room.

Mr. D. stated that the girls' mother had died in a traffic accident, both girls had dropped out of school, and because he had to go to work every day, he locked his children in the room and chained their legs.

Dak Lak province authorities are assessing the injuries on the bodies of the two children to have more basis to continue investigating the case.
