With a total score of 29.5, Le Khanh Nguyen - a 12/6 student at Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted - has excelled and become the valedictorian of the C block in Da Nang in 2025. Of which, he achieved perfect scores in History and Geography, and 9.5 points in Literature. A result that made Khanh Nguyen satisfied, and his teachers and friends admire him.

“I set a target score of 9.75 in Literature, but 9.5 is my highest score ever and I think it reflects my ability. This is also my highest score ever in exams,” said Le Khanh Nguyen, valedictorian of Da Nang’s C block.
Khanh Nguyen shared that this year's Literature exam was quite new and very interesting, but it was difficult to get a high score and cover all the issues. "With the essay question on the topic of the sky of any homeland is the sky of the Fatherland, I related it to the issue of recent provincial mergers. My hometown is also in the process of merger, so it gave me a lot to think about," the valedictorian shared.
To have such a satisfactory result as now is the result of a long period of perseverance. Right from the summer vacation of 2024, Khanh Nguyen started a serious exam review schedule. He made a detailed schedule for each day, allocating reasonable time to review all 3 subjects. The summer period is the time when he focused on building the foundation for the two secondary subjects, History and Geography, which require a wide range of knowledge and high synthesis and reasoning ability. In the evening, he spent time studying Literature.
Nguyen joined an online course and formed a group with his classmates in the C00 block to share information. A month before the graduation exam, Nguyen chose to focus on studying and reviewing the test sets.

“I regularly practice test questions to improve my presentation skills, analyze the questions and maintain the flow of my writing. In addition, I read newspapers and follow news reports to gain more practical material to add to my essay, making the social discussion section more profound and relevant. Updating the news also helps me gain more multi-dimensional perspectives and develop critical thinking. I also focus on practicing fast writing skills, one of the important factors to complete the essay within the limited exam time,” Khanh Nguyen shared.
To achieve a perfect score of 10, Nguyen built a clear study method to grasp the timelines, but more importantly, he had to understand the nature of the events, know how to connect and analyze the problem. Practicing many questions helped him practice his presentation skills, avoid missing ideas and control his test time well.
As an introvert, Nguyen's way of relieving stress is often to lock himself in his room and read a book, or sometimes relax or sleep to relieve stress.

Dream of becoming a Literature teacher
For Nguyen, history is like a living stream, helping her deeply understand the past and form national pride. Each event is not just a date but also contains many lessons about people, spirit and historical values. Interesting geography contains a lot of practical knowledge about the surrounding world . However, her favorite subject and the origin of the remaining subjects is Literature.
From his love of reading, Khanh Nguyen's passion for literature was kindled since childhood. In grade 12, Nguyen took the entrance exam to the Literature class at Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted (old Hoi An city, now Hoi An Tay ward, Da Nang city).
“I have loved literature since I was a child and have maintained it until now and will stick with it for the rest of my life. Because of my love for literature, it led me to study History and Geography. All three social subjects and in-depth study of the spiritual and humanistic aspects of people and the world around me make me very excited, ” Nguyen said.
Regarding the secret to studying social subjects to achieve high results, Khanh Nguyen believes that mastering basic knowledge, especially knowledge in textbooks, is the first step to approaching the exam in the most intimate and in-depth way. There are periods of focusing on practicing the exam questions to get used to the exam atmosphere and the way of thinking when encountering those types of questions so that you can have the correct and fastest answers. There are periods of time when you need to give yourself a break, because the characteristics of social subjects are quite a lot of words, so you need time to memorize them, not "cramming" them all at once, but it needs to be a long-term accumulation process.

Although he is a student majoring in Literature, his academic performance in natural sciences has always been Fair. Nguyen said that natural sciences have helped him with his ability to think about questions and his writing process, helping him to think in a more systematic and logical way.
The female student of a specialized school also shared about the pressure of studying at a specialized school and a selective class because everyone has a lot of pressure and high expectations. However, I am lucky to study in a fairly harmonious class environment, where my classmates support each other. There are many students in the class who are much better than me, but everyone still respects and shares with each other, so even though I put pressure and have high expectations for myself and there is a lot of competition in the class, it is a healthy competition, motivating me to improve every day.
“Khanh Nguyen is a very diligent student, has a talent for literature and is especially eager to improve in his studies. During the 3 years I have been his homeroom teacher, I have clearly felt that he is sensitive to the beauty of literature, and approaches Literature with all his love and passion, not just for the score. His exam results are perfect scores, worthy of his persistent efforts over the past time,” said Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Tram, homeroom teacher of class 12/6 specializing in Literature, Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted.
