According to gardeners, pruning the leaves of apricot blossom trees is considered a crucial step, requiring considerable experience and careful planning. Apricot blossom trees pruned at this time are primarily for sale in the North. This is because the weather in the northern provinces is colder, so pruning must be done earlier. Photo: Truong Dinh

“The apricot blossom tree is mainly dependent on the weather. If you prune the leaves early and the weather is warm and sunny, all the flowers will bloom. But if it's cold, the flowers won't bloom, rendering the tree useless,” said 65-year-old Nguyen Van Sanh from Trung Dinh village. Currently, the area planted with apricot blossom trees has increased significantly, while the market for apricot blossom trees is saturated, and purchasing power is no longer as strong as before. People now prefer bonsai apricot blossom trees. Photo: Truong Dinh
