The first site of the project that the Prime Minister inspected was location 201 in Chau Son commune, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province.

Here, the Prime Minister requested the province to quickly clear the land; coordinate with the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to launch a movement, mobilize people, organizations, and businesses to actively participate, support, and listen to suggestions and comments to promote progress and ensure the quality of the projects.

The 500 kV line 3 circuit project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi has a total length of about 519 km, passing through 211 communes and wards of 43 districts and towns in 9 provinces including Quang Binh , Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen.

The total number of column foundations is 1,179 column foundations, with a total investment of about VND 22,000 billion, invested by EVNNPT under Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN). Previously, the 500 kV line circuit 3 (Vung Ang - Quang Trach - Doc Soi - Pleiku 2) was energized in mid-August 2022.

Following the 500 kV North-South transmission line circuit 1 completed in 1994, circuit 2 completed in 2005, the 500 kV transmission line circuit 3 project is a key, urgent project, playing a particularly important role in national energy security, especially for the Northern region.

The project is of great importance to enhance the capacity of the 500 kV North-Central transmission grid, contributing to ensuring electricity supply for the North at present and in the coming years.

The project helps improve the stability and operation of the national power system, contributing to increasing power transmission from power sources in the North Central region to load centers in the Northern region.

In addition, the project contributes to reducing the risk of overloading and overloading of existing 500 kV lines to ensure N-1 criteria, especially when transmission capacity is high along the North-Central interface at a time when Northern hydropower plants have low generation.

The Prime Minister requested EVN and EVNNPT to strive to complete the project in June 2024 with the spirit of: "Only discuss work, no retreat"; "overcome the sun and overcome the rain"; "eat quickly, sleep urgently"; "work in 3 shifts, 4 shifts"; "work through holidays and Tet".

The Prime Minister also requested relevant ministries, branches and local authorities to uphold their sense of responsibility, be more determined, coordinate more closely, proactively and quickly resolve procedures, documents and work related to the project according to their assigned functions and tasks in order to complete the project and put it into operation according to the set goals .
