VnExpressVnExpress18/04/2024

After offering incense at the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited workers at the construction site of the Phu Tho Provincial Cultural and Arts Center project on the morning of April 18th.

Government leaders commended the workers for continuing to work diligently on the project site even during the holiday, demonstrating the spirit of "only focusing on work, never retreating, working in 3 shifts, 4 teams, overcoming sun and rain, working throughout holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year), eating and sleeping quickly."

The Prime Minister requested the leaders of Phu Tho province to direct the contractor and the team of officials and workers to continue their efforts and uphold their sense of responsibility in the construction and implementation of the project. The goal is to ensure progress, avoid delays that cause cost overruns and waste, and ensure quality, technical standards, aesthetics, labor safety, environmental hygiene, and to prevent corruption and negative practices.

"The sooner the project is put into operation, the more beneficial it will be, and the people will benefit sooner," he said.

The head of the government affirmed that Phu Tho is a sacred ancestral land with a glorious historical tradition and rich cultural identity, boasting two intangible cultural heritage sites: the Hung Kings worshiping belief and Xoan singing, both recognized by UNESCO. To develop its culture, the locality must develop its people and invest in infrastructure.

According to him, Phu Tho needs to refer to other projects both domestically and internationally to build a Phu Tho cultural and arts center that combines tradition and modernity, and internationalizes its identity. The province also needs to prepare for human resource training and research mechanisms for exploitation and management in a self-reliant manner with a model of "public investment, private management, transparency, and efficiency".

The Phu Tho Provincial Cultural Center is planned to be approximately 33.9 meters high and will be built in Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri City, on a 17,800 m2 plot of land. In the future, it will be a venue for cultural and artistic activities and community events, with a capacity of 1,000 seats, three above-ground floors, a basement, and a rooftop. Construction began in April 2022, with a total investment of 400 billion VND from the provincial budget and other legal sources.

On the morning of the same day (March 10th according to the lunar calendar), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a delegation of Party and State leaders to offer incense in commemoration of the Hung Kings' death anniversary.
