Prime Minister attends and congratulates Buddha's Birthday 2024 at Quan Su Pagoda

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - On the morning of May 22nd, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, Quan Su Pagoda, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and offered congratulations on the Grand Celebration commemorating the birth of the Buddha 2024 (Buddhist calendar 2568).
On the morning of May 22nd (corresponding to the 15th day of the 4th lunar month), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and extended his congratulations to the venerable religious leaders of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers on the occasion of the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2568, 2024, at Quan Su Pagoda (Photo: Nhu Y). Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Buddha bathing ceremony with the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Association. The Prime Minister extended his congratulations to the leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, and also conveyed the congratulations of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to Buddhist followers nationwide on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday (Photo: Nhu Y). Venerable Thich Thien Nhon - Vice Dharma Chief, Chairman of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha - respectfully thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation for their visit to congratulate on the Buddha's Birthday celebration at Quan Su Pagoda. For the past two weeks, Quan Su Pagoda - the headquarters of the Vietnam Buddhist Association - has been beautifully decorated, serving as the venue for the grand celebration of the Buddha's birthday in 2024 (Photo: Huu Nghi).
Numerous people and Buddhists visited Quan Su Pagoda to offer incense and perform rituals on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday celebration. 2568 years ago, on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month, in the Lumbini Garden, countless flowers bloomed to celebrate the birth of Prince Siddhartha, son of King Suddhodana and Queen Maya (Photo: Huu Nghi). Many celebratory activities also took place with joy from Buddhists from all over. This is the most anticipated event by monks, nuns, and Buddhists in Hanoi every Buddha's Birthday season. Earlier on the afternoon of May 21st, the Central Communication Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha held a press conference on the "Vu Lan - Filial Piety & Nation 2024" program, linking a series of welfare activities with a journey towards Dien Bien Phu.
