On the morning of April 18th (corresponding to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month of the Year of the Dragon), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings at Kinh Thien Palace on Nghia Linh mountain peak, within the Hung Temple National Special Historical Relic Site in Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province.

Attending the ceremony were Politburo member and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; Politburo member and Minister of Public Security , General To Lam; Politburo member and Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, General Luong Cuong; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department Bui Thi Minh Hoai; leaders of ministries, departments, central agencies, provinces, cities, and tens of thousands of people from all over the country, overseas Vietnamese, and international tourists.
To the resounding strains of ceremonial music, the incense offering procession, with its solemn ceremonial guard and magnificent banners, set off from the central festival grounds, passing through the ceremonial gate, the Lower Temple, the Middle Temple, and finally to the Upper Temple.

Leading the procession were soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army carrying the national flag, ceremonial banners, and wreaths bearing the inscription "Forever grateful to the Hung Kings for their contributions to nation-building."
Following behind were young women and 100 descendants of Lac Hong in ancient costumes, holding high ceremonial flags, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the Immortal Dragon lineage, along with a procession carrying offerings of incense, flowers, banh chung (rice cakes), and banh giay (rice cakes) associated with the legend of Prince Lang Lieu.
During the sacred moment of the Ancestor Commemoration Day, on the summit of the sacred Nghia Linh mountain, with heartfelt gratitude for the merits of our ancestors and demonstrating the Vietnamese people's principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with other Party and State leaders and local leaders, entered the Upper Sanctuary to offer incense and flowers, expressing profound gratitude to our forefathers who contributed to the founding of the nation, enabling their descendants to continue the Lac Hong tradition and build a prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Vietnam as it is today.

On behalf of the people of the whole country, before the sacred spirits of the Hung Kings, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province Bui Van Quang, the chief officiant of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony in the year of the Dragon 2024, read the commemorative address remembering the ancestors, the Hung Kings who initiated the nation's origins, established the Van Lang State; pioneered and built the foundation through eighteen dynasties; and laid the groundwork for the nation and people to prosper for generations to come...
The eulogy also respectfully reports to the spirits of our ancestors the great achievements the country has attained in the process of reform and international integration. It affirms the continuation of the Dragon-Immortal tradition, striving wholeheartedly for the cause of nation-building and national defense of our forefathers; upholding the spirit of patriotism and revolution; the will for independence, self-reliance, and self-strength; promoting the strength of national unity combined with the strength of the times; working together with greater determination and effort; seizing opportunities and advantages, steadfastly overcoming difficulties; building a country that is increasingly prosperous, thriving, civilized, and happy; firmly protecting independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, bringing glory to the Fatherland and the Vietnamese nation.

“Before the sacred spirits of the Hung Kings, we pray that the Holy Ancestors will bless the nation with prosperity, peace, and well-being for all families and generations to come. May they grant favorable weather, good health for the people, and abundance for all resources; may the entire nation overcome difficulties and challenges, and successfully achieve the goals and tasks set forth. May the descendants of Lac Hong throughout the country and our compatriots abroad always be healthy, safe, and enjoy peace and harmony,” the prayer stated.
Immediately after the incense offering ceremony, the Party and State leaders, along with delegates, laid wreaths and offered incense at the Hung Vuong Mausoleum; respectfully commemorating President Ho Chi Minh and the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland beside the bas-relief depicting President Ho Chi Minh speaking with officers and soldiers of the Vanguard Army at the five-way intersection near Den Gieng.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and Hung Land Culture and Tourism Week 2024 will take place from April 9th to 18th (corresponding to the 1st to 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) at the Hung Temple Historical Site (Viet Tri City) and in districts, towns, and cities throughout Phu Tho province.
At the same time, in localities across the country and in Phu Tho province where there are temples dedicated to Hung Kings and other prominent figures and generals of the Hung Dynasty, ceremonies are being held to offer incense in commemoration of the Hung Kings according to traditional rituals.
