This year, the event gathered more than 150 entries, together telling creative stories revolving around the theme of "love" - a message throughout the upcoming Christmas and New Year season.

Held continuously for the past 35 years, the competition has become a unique cultural activity of the capital Stockholm, where all ages and professions can participate. From children passionate about creativity, architects pursuing distinctive lines, to professional bakers wishing to try their hand, all join hands to create a sweet and colorful space.

This year, many works have made a strong impression thanks to the delicate combination of baking techniques and unique creativity. A series of world- famous cultural and architectural icons have been recreated with gingerbread: from the proud Eiffel Tower in the heart of Paris, the majestic Taj Mahal, to the Louvre Museum with its distinctive glass pyramid design. Even the character Labubu - a popular cultural icon loved by young people - also appeared vividly through the materials of flour, sugar and traditional ginger spices.

According to the organizers, this is not only a competition but also an open exhibition, encouraging creativity from the community. Anyone can submit entries and participate in voting, directly at the exhibition space or online. It is this open spirit that has helped the competition become a familiar art playground, spreading joy and inspiring creativity during Christmas.

This year’s theme of “love” was chosen to honor sharing, solidarity and hope – values that are always emphasized during the festive season. Many works not only focus on architectural beauty but also depict small stories about family love, empathy and community spirit. Under the warm light of the exhibition, each gingerbread house is like a message of love, bringing a feeling of warmth in the cold winter days of Northern Europe.

The exhibition officially opened on November 28 and will last until mid-January 2026, allowing residents and visitors to fully enjoy it. The competition results are expected to be announced on December 14, promising to honor the most outstanding works and at the same time close the emotional creative journey of this year's Christmas season.

With the sweet colors of gingerbread and profound humanistic messages, the contest continues to affirm the appeal of a beautiful tradition in Sweden – where love stories are told through small but passionate works.
