These days, the Hanoi Cultural and Library Center (Hoan Kiem district) attracts a large number of children who come to read books and have fun. Every day, this place welcomes more than 1,000 visitors, mostly children. Besides our regular readers, hundreds of young children register as new members every day. To better serve the needs of readers, especially children, the library is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (no lunch break) from Tuesday to Saturday every week. The library has two reading rooms for young children, named Children's and Preschool/Elementary. Each room is equipped with lockers where children can leave their belongings before entering the reading room.
With its open space, the Children's Reading Room is an ideal place for young children. The books here have all been carefully selected by the research unit and include a wide variety of genres such as: comics, stories, science books, skills books, bilingual books, etc. As a regular reader at the library, Nguyen Tue Vi (Hoang Mai district) shared: “I often look for books about the world around us and Vietnamese folk tales. Each story gives us a lesson about morality, etiquette, and the traditional values of Vietnamese people.” "Besides, coming here allows me to have fun, socialize, and learn many things from my peers," Tuệ Vi added. The reading room for preschool and primary school students is designed with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Reading with his child, Mr. Le Cao Vinh (Hai Ba Trung district) said: "There are many new books here with a variety of genres to meet the reading needs of my child and me. Reading with my child helps me understand him better and strengthens the father-child bond." "The library has a beautiful, friendly space, and is a safe and enriching playground for our children during the summer," Mr. Vinh commented. The library uses technology to make borrowing and returning books more convenient for readers. Besides the reading area, the library also has a play and recreation room for children.
