Thua Thien Hue strives to open 1 international flight route and charter flights in 2024

Accordingly, Thua Thien Hue province aims to open one international flight route and charter flights in the 2024-2025 period; maximizing the operating capacity of 5 million passengers/year at Terminal 2 of Phu Bai International Airport. At the same time, it aims to meet the increasing demand for air transport, especially to serve major events held in Hue or peak tourist seasons.

According to the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, the plan also aims to expand the flight network to connect with cities and countries that do not yet have direct flights. It strengthens connections between Hue and economic , tourism, and cultural centers, attracts tourists from new markets, increases tourism revenue, and develops related service industries. It also aims to create favorable conditions for both international and domestic tourists to visit Hue.

The group of passengers on the Bangkok- Hue -Bangkok charter flight have arrived in Thua Thien Hue.

Furthermore, it aims to meet the travel needs of people and businesses, especially in rapidly developing areas or those with high demand for air transport; to facilitate business, trade, and tourism activities, thereby promoting local and national economic growth.

To achieve the above objectives, the plan will implement several key tasks such as: Conducting market research to identify passenger and business needs; analyzing and evaluating potential passenger volume, travel trends, and cargo transportation needs; and determining flight routes based on market research and profitability.

Local authorities also developed detailed plans for opening new routes, including schedules, flight frequencies, and accompanying services. They identified market access strategies and promotional campaigns to attract passengers. They implemented promotional campaigns across multiple media channels to introduce the new routes, while also developing promotions and incentives to attract passengers.

Strengthen domestic and international tourism promotion and marketing efforts to attract tourists. Diversify tourism products, create unique and distinctive products for Thua Thien Hue tourism, enhance the competitiveness of tourism products, and strengthen the development of souvenir products and handicraft village tourism. Develop human resources.

In addition, the Decision No. 01/2016/QD-UBND dated January 4, 2016, of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on preferential policies for opening new flight routes to Phu Bai International Airport will be reviewed, amended, and supplemented.
