On the afternoon of December 1st, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Wang Yi, Member of the Politburo, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

During the meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed Comrade Wang Yi's visit to Vietnam, expressing confidence that the visit would make a positive contribution to promoting increasingly deep, substantive, and effective cooperation between the two countries.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong conveyed warm greetings to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders; emphasized the significance of the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China; expressed appreciation for the assistance of the Chinese people to Vietnam's revolutionary cause and socialist construction and national development; and affirmed the high regard and top priority that the Party and State of Vietnam attach to Vietnam-China relations.

Congratulating China on its achievements in recent years, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his confidence that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping as its core, China will certainly successfully achieve the goals set forth by the 20th National Congress. Vietnam always supports the development of a strong socialist China, playing an increasingly important role in peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highly appreciated the very positive progress in the relations between the two Parties and the two countries, especially the outstanding achievements in the 15 years since the two countries established a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Acknowledging the important results of the 15th Session of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong suggested that both sides, especially the foreign affairs and diplomatic agencies of the two Parties and two countries, should play a leading role in comprehensively promoting relations in all fields, focusing on strengthening high-level exchanges and contacts to create a strategic direction for bilateral relations and create a favorable atmosphere for the overall relationship between the two Parties and two countries, which is constantly developing well.

Comrade Wang Yi sincerely thanked General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for taking the time to receive the delegation, and respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Comrade Wang Yi expressed strong agreement and acceptance of the important and strategically significant guiding opinions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on further promoting and deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two Parties and the two countries.

Congratulating Vietnam on the great and historically significant achievements it has made over nearly 40 years of reform and since the 13th National Congress, Comrade Wang Yi expressed his confidence that under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnam will certainly successfully achieve the development goals for 2030 and 2045 set forth by the 13th National Congress.

Comrade Wang Yi informed about the common understandings and important results achieved by both sides at the 15th Session of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee; emphasizing that under the guidance and direction of the two General Secretaries of the two Parties, the sectors and levels of both sides will continue to promote substantive and effective cooperation in various fields, strengthen political trust, and continuously enrich the content of the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China in the future.
