Disabled soldier Le Thanh Tu found lost property and returned it to its owner.

BAC NINH - On September 8, Mr. Truong Duc Thuan, Head of the Administration Department (Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1) said that the unit had just coordinated to return lost property to the relatives of a patient being treated at the hospital. Notably, this property was picked up by a war invalid and handed over to the hospital's security guard.

At approximately 4:30 PM on September 8th, while visiting Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1, Mr. Le Thanh Tu (born in 1947), residing in Duong village, Dong Viet commune (Bac Ninh province), found a leather wallet at a beverage stall near Gate No. 1 of the hospital. Wishing to return the property to its owner, Mr. Tu approached the hospital's security guard to hand over the wallet.

Upon inspection, the security team determined that the wallet contained nearly 2.8 million VND along with several personal documents such as: health insurance card, driver's license, and a hospital fee advance receipt under the name Nguyen Van Dung.

After filing a report, the security team coordinated with the hospital's departments, wards, and centers to find the owner of the wallet. At 6:45 PM the same day, the security team identified the owner as Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, residing in Vang village, Tien Luc commune (Bac Ninh province), a family member of a patient being treated in the Cardiology Department. Immediately afterward, the security team returned all the belongings to Mr. Dung.

“Because I was in a hurry to take care of a relative, I didn't realize I had dropped my wallet. Receiving my wallet back with all my documents and money, I was very touched and would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Tư and the staff working at Bắc Ninh General Hospital No. 1,” Mr. Dũng shared.

It is known that Mr. Le Thanh Tu participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country and was wounded (losing part of his right arm) on the Quang Nam - Da Nang front in 1968. Currently, he is receiving a disability pension of 61% and a war injury pension of 43%.

"Uncle Tư's admirable actions contribute to spreading the fine qualities of the Ho Chi Minh's soldiers. We will intensify propaganda and spread this meaningful deed of Uncle Tư so that hospital staff, as well as patients and their relatives, will follow suit," Mr. Truong Duc Thuan shared.
