Disabled soldier Le Thanh Tu found lost property and returned it to its owner.

BAC NINH - On September 8, Mr. Truong Duc Thuan, Head of the Administration Department (Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1) said that the unit had just coordinated to return lost property to the relatives of a patient being treated at the hospital. Notably, this property was picked up by a war invalid and handed over to the hospital's security guard.

At around 4:30 p.m. on September 8, while visiting Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 for a check-up, Mr. Le Thanh Tu (born in 1947), residing in Duong village, Dong Viet commune (Bac Ninh province) picked up a leather wallet at a cafe near gate No. 1 of the hospital. With the desire to return the property to the owner, Mr. Tu went to the hospital's security guard to hand over the property.

Through inspection, the security team determined that the wallet contained nearly 2.8 million VND along with some personal documents such as: health insurance, driver's license, hospital advance payment receipt in the name of Nguyen Van Dung.

After making a record, the security team coordinated with the departments, rooms, and centers of the hospital to find the owner of the wallet. At 6:45 p.m. the same day, the security team identified the owner of the wallet as Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, residing in Vang village, Tien Luc commune (Bac Ninh), a relative of a patient being treated at the Cardiology Department. Immediately after that, the security team handed over all the property to Mr. Dung.

“Because I was in a hurry to take care of my relatives, I didn’t realize I had lost my wallet. When I received my wallet back with all my documents and money, I was very touched and sent my thanks to Uncle Tu as well as the staff working at Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1,” Mr. Dung shared.

It is known that Mr. Le Thanh Tu participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country and was injured (lost part of his right arm) at the Quang Nam - Da Nang front in 1968. He is currently enjoying 61% sick leave and 43% disabled leave.

“Uncle Tu’s beautiful actions contribute to spreading the good qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers. We will promote and disseminate Uncle Tu’s meaningful actions so that hospital staff, patients and their relatives can follow,” Mr. Truong Duc Thuan shared.
