The Provincial People's Council Standing Committee held the 37th meeting

On March 20th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, 11th term (2021-2026), held its 37th session to review the results of the Provincial People's Council's activities in the first quarter and implement tasks for the second quarter of 2024. Comrades Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Tran Minh Luc, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, presided over the session. Also in attendance were Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; other members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; and leaders of several relevant departments and agencies.

In the first quarter, the Standing Committee and the Committees of the Provincial People's Council effectively performed their functions, duties, and powers as prescribed by law and the work program. They successfully organized two sessions of the Provincial People's Council to address unforeseen issues, promptly creating a legal basis to serve the province's socio-economic development tasks. They promptly directed the development and implementation of the monitoring program, the key work program for 2024, activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024, and the implementation of socio -economic tasks in the first quarter… In addition, they organized working sessions and guided the activities of the People's Councils of districts and cities; reviewed and urged the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and targets for 2024 in localities. They prepared to organize thematic meetings with voters; maintained citizen reception, and urged the resolution of complaints and denunciations. Coordinate promptly and closely with the Provincial People's Committee in providing opinions and resolving issues within their authority, following the prescribed procedures and legal regulations; review and advise on matters as assigned by the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee.

In the second quarter, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will conduct a thematic supervision of the Provincial People's Council on "Results of implementing policies and laws on tourism development in the province, 2021-2023". It will direct the preparation of thematic voter consultations, explanatory sessions, and the development of a performance evaluation form for Provincial People's Council representatives. It will also direct the supervision and urging of the accelerated implementation of key tasks and solutions for socio-economic development and the state budget estimates for the first six months of the year. Furthermore, it will direct the preparation of the content and program for the mid-year regular session of 2024 and other thematic sessions and sessions to address unforeseen issues. Finally, it will organize thematic voter consultations and voter consultations before the mid-year regular session of 2024 of the Provincial People's Council...

At the meeting, the leaders of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council approved the plan for the thematic voter outreach meeting on "Promoting the development of the marine economy associated with improving the quality of life, material and spiritual well-being of the people, and protecting maritime and island sovereignty ," which is expected to be held in the second quarter; the Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council reported on the results of monitoring the implementation of the Thai Hoa General Hospital project.

Concluding the session, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council highly appreciated the results of the Provincial People's Council in the first quarter; and requested the Standing Committee, the Committees, and each delegate of the Provincial People's Council to continue to uphold their sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties and limitations, and complete the tasks, programs, and plans set out in the second quarter, contributing to promoting and accelerating the successful achievement of the goals for 2024 as well as the entire term. He noted several key tasks: Strengthening the effectiveness of supervision; reviewing the guidelines for the questioning and explanation process; and organizing supervision activities in accordance with regulations. For supervision activities conducted by the Committees of the Provincial People's Council, a comprehensive, specific, and clear assessment of the supervised issue is necessary. The Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council should prepare well the content for evaluating the work of the Provincial People's Council in the first six months of the year. The assessment form for the quality of activities of the Provincial People's Council delegates should also be further refined. Review the operational regulations of the Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council to ensure accurate and proper implementation. Regarding the thematic voter consultation on "Promoting marine economic development while improving the quality of life, material and spiritual well-being of the people, and protecting maritime sovereignty and islands," it is necessary to research, identify, guide, and orient voters and the public on key and pressing issues in the implementation of policies related to marine economic development. For the Thai Hoa General Hospital Project, relevant levels and sectors should continue to coordinate research, review, and identify remaining obstacles and problems, proposing solutions to ensure the project's implementation in accordance with the law.
