Over two days (May 15th and 16th), the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thieu Hoa District, for the term 2024-2029, took place. Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, and Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, attended and directed the congress.

During the past term, the Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations in Thieu Hoa district have made efforts and acted responsibly to overcome difficulties, actively innovate the content and methods of their activities, and effectively implement the 5 action programs and 10 targets and tasks set forth in the Resolution of the Thieu Hoa District Fatherland Front Congress for the 2019-2024 term, contributing to building and consolidating the great national unity.

The campaigns and patriotic emulation movements were implemented synchronously; effective models were built at the grassroots level. In implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," over the past five years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations have mobilized the people to donate over 60,000 ^m² of land, contribute tens of billions of dong, and over 39,240 man-days of labor to concrete and asphalt nearly 362 km of roads, 198 km of model fences, tens of kilometers of model power lines, flower-lined roads, green spaces, and social welfare projects... They also coordinated the construction of 167 models of "Self-governing residential areas for food safety," "Residential areas for environmental protection"; and 57 models of "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential areas"...

The District Fatherland Front Committee has spearheaded efforts to mobilize and encourage businesses and philanthropists to join hands in helping the poor and supporting the construction and repair of over 300 solidarity houses with a total amount exceeding 10 billion VND; it has also mobilized support for the construction of houses for 28 poor Catholic households living on the river, helping them stabilize their lives, with a total cost of 7.6 billion VND. It has closely coordinated with the government and member organizations to carry out social welfare work, caring for the poor and policy beneficiary families during Tet (Lunar New Year) with a total value of nearly 10 billion VND; and mobilized support for the people of the Central provinces to overcome the consequences of storms and floods with over 2 billion VND... The promotion of the people's right to self-governance and participation in building the Party and the government is becoming clearer in terms of organizational methods; social supervision and criticism are being implemented with increasingly rigorous and effective processes.

The discussions at the Congress also seriously reviewed and frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in the organization and operation of the District Fatherland Front Committee during the 2019-2024 term; at the same time, they set out 8 targets and 6 action programs for the District Fatherland Front Committee for the 2024-2029 term with key objectives, tasks and specific solutions.

In their guiding remarks at the congress, comrades Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; and Nguyen Van Bien, Provincial Party Committee Member, Secretary of the District Party Committee, and Chairman of the District People's Council, acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of the Fatherland Front at all levels in Thieu Hoa district; while also frankly pointing out the limitations in directing and organizing the implementation of front work tasks during the past term.

To ensure the continued development of front work, with profound impact and practical results, the comrades proposed that the District Fatherland Front continue to strengthen propaganda work, raising awareness among cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people about the cause of national unity; about the position, role, functions, and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new period. Continue to effectively fulfill the role and functions of the Fatherland Front in the current period, mobilizing the people to actively participate in building a stronger Party, government, and political system. Effectively implement social supervision and criticism in accordance with Directive 18 and the regulations of the Party and State. Regularly coordinate closely with the government at all levels to organize meetings with voters, dialogues, and listen to the people, creating high consensus in society.

Furthermore, it is necessary to continue innovating and improving the quality of implementing campaigns and patriotic emulation movements in a practical and effective manner, focusing strongly on residential areas, and promoting the initiative and self-governance of the community. Continue to encourage people to actively shift the production structure, apply science and technology, and consolidate land to develop large-scale, high-tech agriculture; promote the "One Commune, One Product" program, and boost socio-economic development.

Innovate the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front at all levels towards being close to the grassroots, practical, and effective, building a truly solid, streamlined, and effective political alliance. Effectively implement Conclusion No. 610 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on continuing to implement Resolution No. 02 on reforming and improving the quality of operation of the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations.

In addition, attention should be paid to the training and development of a team of Fatherland Front officials at all levels who possess moral character, practical abilities, scientific working methods, mass mobilization skills, close contact with the grassroots, courage, and the willingness to think, act, speak, and take responsibility. They should always be dedicated and committed to their assigned tasks, contributing to the development of Thieu Hoa district to achieve advanced new rural standards by 2025, and to be among the leading districts in the province by 2030, moving towards urbanization.

The members of the Fatherland Front Committee of Thieu Hoa district, term VI, 2024-2029, were introduced at the Congress.

With the motto "Unity - Democracy - Innovation - Development," the Congress democratically elected 65 members to the Thieu Hoa District Fatherland Front Committee, term VI, 2024-2029. At the first meeting of the District Fatherland Front Committee, term VI, 4 members were elected to the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Lai, a member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, was re-elected as Chairman of the District Fatherland Front Committee for the sixth term, 2024-2029. The Congress also nominated nine delegates to attend the 15th Provincial Fatherland Front Congress, 2024-2029.
