ATK (short for safe zone) Dinh Hoa was chosen as a resistance base from 1947. With its rugged terrain and surrounding mountains and forests, it became an important base for President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Party Committee to work and direct the resistance war against French colonialism.
From ATK (Anti-French Resistance Zone), many important strategic decisions were made, especially the Autumn-Winter campaign of 1953-1954 and the Battle of Dien Bien Phu.
The Định Hóa Revolutionary Base Area (ATK Định Hóa) encompasses numerous landmarks associated with revolutionary activities, notably the Tỉn Keo Hut, Khau Tý Hill, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, and the Presidential Palace historical site. Additionally, ATK Định Hóa boasts other historical sites such as the Khuôn Tát Hut, Khuôn Tát Stream, and a system of remaining trenches, tunnels, and combat fortifications.
