The Lang Fort relic was formerly located in the premises of the Lang Hydrometeorological Station, the National Hydrometeorological Forecasting Center. After the Huynh Thuc Khang Street extension project was completed, the relic was renovated and became an attractive open space, attracting people and tourists to visit, take photos, and learn about history.
Information on the stone stele at the relic says: "At 8:03 p.m. on December 19, 1946, the Lang Fortress was ordered to fire the first shots at the French troops in Hanoi City, opening the nationwide resistance war against the invading French colonialists...".

With a majestic and heroic appearance but still retaining its historical value, the Lang Citadel relic has become a "red address" to educate revolutionary traditions, foster patriotism and national pride for young generations. At the same time, this is also a meaningful destination for domestic and foreign tourists to learn about the history and development process of the Capital.
