Tran Thanh is the first Vietnamese director to have a revenue of over 1,000 billion.

On the afternoon of February 14, Box Office Vietnam announced that the revenue of the movie Mai was 204 billion VND, surpassing the 200 billion mark the fastest in the history of Vietnamese movies.

Previously, the revenue of Bo Gia was 427 billion VND, and Nha Ba Nu was 475 billion VND.

All three films were directed by Tran Thanh, helping him become the first Vietnamese director to have a total revenue of films reaching over 1,000 billion: specifically 1,106 billion VND and still increasing.

Mai is a work shown during this year's Lunar New Year by director Tran Thanh. This is his first work rated 18+.

The film, invested with nearly 50 billion VND, tells the story of Mai (Phuong Anh Dao), a nearly 40-year-old massage worker who accidentally meets musician Duong (Tuan Tran), 7 years younger, and is courted by him.
