The enthusiasm and dynamism of the youth of Regiment 88

Visiting Regiment 88 (Tu Vu Group), we easily felt the excitement and joy of the officers and soldiers on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Armed Forces of Military Region 7 (December 10, 1945 / December 10, 2025) and the 48th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Division 302 (December 16, 1977 / December 16, 2025).

Leading us around the barracks, Lieutenant Colonel Do Ngoc Tu, Deputy Political Commissar of Regiment 88, "boasted" that the unit had just inaugurated the "Youth Flower Garden" and "Welcome Gate". These were 2 of the 18 projects and 60 youth activities of the Regiment last year.

Soldiers actively take care of the unit's environmental landscape.

He said that the “Youth Flower Garden” project was carried out entirely by the efforts and creativity of the soldiers, from planning and building flower beds to planting ornamental plants. The flower garden has become a highlight, contributing to creating a formal, bright - green - clean - beautiful barracks space, and is also a place for recreational activities of the soldiers during breaks and holidays.

Not only that, along the internal roads, we also felt the smell of new paint from the billboards and propaganda slogans. The Deputy Political Commissar of Regiment 88 shared that recently, the unit has consolidated, upgraded and invested in renewing many propaganda works, emphasizing the propaganda about the glorious tradition of the Armed Forces of Military Region 7 and of the Division and Regiment. Thereby, it has further enlivened the work of political and ideological education, fostering pride and a sense of responsibility for officers and soldiers in carrying out assigned tasks.

Project "Gate of Regiment 88".

In addition to youth projects, Regiment 88 also maintains order and efficiency in many tasks, typically "Youth collects plastic waste, protects the environment" with more than 43 tons/year; cares for and trims more than 300 trees in the school grounds in the stationed area... Recently, nearly 200 officers and soldiers of the Regiment successfully completed the task of helping people in Lam Dong province overcome the consequences of floods. These simple but meaningful tasks have contributed to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers - the people's soldiers in the new era.

The unit's youth participated in the Ho Chi Minh Defense Contest organized by Military Region 7.

"Comrade band" contributes to improving the cultural and spiritual life of soldiers.

On the training grounds, we clearly felt the spirit of "Overcoming the sun and rain, practicing enthusiastically", "Training well, practicing strictly" of the unit. Welcoming us here, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Son, Commander of Regiment 88, said: Training and combat readiness are always the top priorities that the youth of Regiment 88 clearly identified and determined to carry out well. We consider each effective training session, each good and excellent score, each achievement at competitions and sports events organized by the Division and Military Region, each good word, each gesture in accordance with the command as a practical action, contributing to the achievement of celebrating the anniversaries.

The unit's youth coordinated with local authorities to launch a general environmental cleanup in residential areas.

The works, tasks and the vibrant competitive atmosphere at Regiment 88 are vivid evidence of the enthusiasm, vanguard spirit and creativity of the unit's youth. The activities towards the 80th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Military Region 7 and the 48th anniversary of the 302nd Division are extensive political activities, adding confidence to the unit's officers and soldiers to continue to strive, following in the footsteps of previous generations.
