(To Quoc) - The film week commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army will take place from December 9-13, 2024 in Cao Bang and from December 19-25, 2024 nationwide.
In accordance with Decision No. 3894/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 4, 2024, of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Cinema Department, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province, Film Production Company I, Vietnam Film Association Film Studio, People's Army Film Studio, Central Documentary and Scientific Film Company Limited, Vietnam Animation Film Company, Departments of Culture and Sports, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Film Distribution and Screening Centers, Cinema Centers, Culture - Cinema Centers, Culture - Arts Centers, and Cultural Centers of provinces and centrally-administered cities, organized the "Film Week Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024)".
The film week will take place from December 9-13, 2024 in Cao Bang and from December 19-25, 2024 nationwide.

The films selected for screening during the Film Week include: Films screened in Cao Bang province include the feature films: "Blue Star on the Sea Waves" produced by the People's Army Film Studio in 2023, and "Red Dawn" produced by the Vietnam Film Association in 2021. In addition, there is the documentary film "Spiritual Image" produced by the People's Army Film Studio in 2024.
Films screened nationwide include: the feature film "Peach, Pho and Piano" produced by Feature Film Company I; the documentaries "Spiritual Image" and "Steel in the Deep Sea" produced by the People's Army Film Studio, and "Nguyen Thi Dinh - Portrait of a Female General" produced by the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Company Limited; and the animated film "Green Land" produced by the Vietnam Animation Film Company.
The "Film Week Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024)" is one of the practical cultural and cinematic activities to celebrate major national holidays and important events in 2024. The film week is organized to educate officers, soldiers, and the general public about the formation, development, and contributions of the Vietnam People's Army over its 80 years of establishment, affirming the brilliant and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. The films not only reflect the heroic fighting spirit and unwavering loyalty to the Fatherland but also deeply portray the lives, feelings, and simple, relatable aspirations of soldiers.
In Cao Bang province, the Department of Cinematography, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province, the People's Army Cinematography, the Film Studio of the Vietnam Film Association, and the Cao Bang Provincial Center for Culture and Tourism Information, organized a Film Week commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) from December 9 to December 13, 2024.

The Film Week Opening Ceremony was held solemnly at the Cao Bang Provincial Central Cultural House on December 10, 2024, and featured the feature film: "Blue Star on the Sea Waves" and the documentary: "Spiritual Image" (produced by the People's Army Film Studio).
Within the framework of the Film Week, the Department of Cinema organized screenings of the feature films: Red Dawn, Blue Star on the Sea Waves, and the documentary film Spirit Image; and An exchange between film crews and artists with officers and soldiers of the Cao Bang Border Guard Command on December 11, 2024; and an exchange between film crews and artists with officials, teachers, and students of the Cao Bang Provincial Ethnic Boarding School on December 12, 2024. Through these exchanges, officials, soldiers, the people, teachers, and students will gain a deeper understanding of the profound meaning of the heroic traditions of the Vietnam People's Army through the films; stories about the behind-the-scenes work of film crews, the daily lives, and the artistic endeavors of Vietnamese film artists.
As part of the Film Week in Cao Bang province, the film crew and artists offered incense at the Pac Bo historical site and toured the area. The Tran Hung Dao Forest National Special Historical Site and Ban Gioc Waterfall recall the glorious chapters of the Vietnam People's Army and the history of the Vietnamese Revolution.

Participating in the Film Week in Cao Bang province will be the following artists: Lieutenant Colonel, screenwriter Tran Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Director of the Documentary Film Studio of the People's Army; Meritorious Artist, actor Ho Phong; actor Thanh Tuan; actor Than Thuong; Major, professional soldier Le Khac Quang; Senior Lieutenant Vu Thanh Tung (of the feature film "Green Star on the Sea Waves"); screenwriter Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, makeup artist Vuong Lan Anh and 3 female Youth Volunteer soldiers from the Truong Son Army's driving squad (who are the real-life inspirations for the characters in the feature film "Red Dawn" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet Anh, Ms. Bui Thi Van, Ms. Vu Thi Kim Dung); actress, MC Huyen Sam…/.
