The parade force includes: 4 leading ceremonial units (cars with the national emblem, national flags and party flags, cars carrying President Ho Chi Minh's portrait, model cars symbolizing the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2), followed by 26 military units and 4 foreign military units (China, Russia, Laos, Cambodia); 17 police units; 14 military artillery units.

During the marching blocks through Ba Dinh Square, the armed forces will also conduct a sea parade at Cam Ranh military base, Khanh Hoa province. Images of the sea parade will be shown on screens at Ba Dinh Square and 270 screens on the streets of Hanoi for people to watch the parade.

Following the armed forces was the Red Flag group, which opened the parade of 12 mass groups. In addition, the forces participating in the parade also included the honor guard and 29 standing groups (18 armed forces groups facing stand A; 11 mass groups standing on both sides of the armed forces groups) and the shape-forming and letter-forming groups.

Coming from Bac Ninh to Hanoi on the afternoon of September 1, veteran Nguyen Kim Thanh was very excited even though he had to wait all night to watch the parade. He and many other veterans were invited by Ba Dinh Electricity staff to the guest station on Dien Bien Phu Street, right at the foot of the Hanoi flagpole, which was built by the Hanoi People's Committee to welcome veterans coming to Hanoi to watch the parade.

From An Giang, Ninh Binh to Hanoi, strangers met for only a few hours, but sat down at the same table to eat, telling each other stories of their hometown. That simple meal became a bond, like a 'common family' on a great national festival.
