On the evening of February 4, General Secretary To Lam had a phone call with First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel.

On behalf of the Party, State and people of Cuba and General Raul Castro Ruz, Mr. Miguel Diaz-Canel conveyed the best wishes to the Party, State and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lunar New Year.

The First Secretary and President of Cuba highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in building and developing the country, considering it a shining example for the international revolutionary and communist movement.

At the same time, he expressed his appreciation for Vietnam's solidarity and sincere support for Cuba over the years.

General Secretary To Lam reaffirmed Vietnam's stance in support of the United Nations General Assembly resolutions calling for an end to the embargo against Cuba.

Leaders of the two Parties and two countries shared information about the situation of each Party and each country; reaffirmed the importance of the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, considering it a priceless asset that both sides need to strive to strengthen and develop.

The two sides agreed to promote the implementation of many cooperation activities to enhance political trust; effectively implement high-level agreements reached during the historic visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Cuba in September 2024; and actively organize solemn commemorative activities and people-to-people exchanges during the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025.

General Secretary To Lam reiterated the invitation and welcomed First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel to soon visit Vietnam again in 2025; and at the same time sent his warm regards to General Raul Castro Ruz.
