According to sources, the White House predicts that Netanyahu's political career is nearing its end and his position as Prime Minister will only last a few months, or at least until the end of Israel's military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
President Biden spoke by phone with the Israeli Prime Minister and asked him to consider leaving a legacy for his successor.
According to Politico , the reason Netanyahu's position as Prime Minister is in jeopardy is the failure of Israeli intelligence that led to the surprise Hamas attack on October 7th.
Moreover, Tel Aviv's military campaign in the Gaza Strip has also faced fierce opposition in many places.
In an earlier press conference, Prime Minister Netanyahu declined to comment on the possibility of resigning, emphasizing that he was fully focused on the military campaign.
On the same day, President Biden called for a temporary halt to the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip.
At a special session of the UN General Assembly on Palestine, Russia's Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzya called for an immediate end to the bloodshed in the Middle East to prevent the spread of war.
